Frank's Supply Company is a major supplier of construction tools and equipment with our focus on both sales and rental. We are currently seeking a qualified SHOP FOREMAN for our Albuquerque NM location.

Summary of Position Responsibilities:

The Shop Forman's objectives are to supervise mechanic and yard personnel, direct repairs and maintenance of equipment, to provide the best possible service to Frank's Supply customers and provide a comfortable, safe and enjoyable work environment for our employees.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Supervise and train mechanic and rental yard personnel for best efficiency according to knowledge and proficiency.

* Communicate with the corporate rental manager and store manager on a daily basis.

* Oversee the dispatching of the field service mechanics in an effort to reduce the down time of our rental customers and be most cost efficient.

* Develop and manage a staggered daily work schedule for personnel in an effort to reduce overtime.

* Oversee and manage all customer and internal work orders on a daily basis.

* Work directly with parts department in an effort to expedite the parts that are needed for equipment repairs in an effort to reduce the amount of down time.

* Oversee and manage all paperwork on a daily basis.

* Responsible for making sure the shop and yard is kept clean and organized.

* Provide back-up for mechanics and yard when needed.

* Coordinate with store manager for vacations for mechanics and yard personnel to assure proper coverage.

* Assist in soliciting and interviewing applicants for new employment.

* Oversee and manage monthly safety meeting with all personnel.

* Investigate and find solutions for customer or employee complaints.

* Work directly with HR and store manager with write-ups on employees under performing or not following company policy.

* Work directly with HR and store manager when terminating an employee.

* Assist other department managers in answering questions, product application and expediting deliveries.

* Communicate with store manager on shop tool requirements as needed. Must be able to identify, evaluate, and assimilate information before making quality decisions

* Participate in personal development including activities as directed by management which can include:
Attending equipment and other training courses as approved by management; use self-instructional materials available
Read trade, vendor and other product or services materials
Other training courses approved by management

* Perform special projects, participate on project teams, and other tasks as assigned by management

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

* Sitting, standing or kneeling for extended periods of time

* Good eyesight and hearing

* Noisy environment must not be easily distracted

* Overtime; can be on short notice

* Deal with customers and employees

* Overhead reaching, climbing and lifting

* Consistently able to lift up to 70 pounds

* Good memory

* Equipment and job resources consistently used include the computer and related technologies, telephone, fax machine, copier, and calculator

Qualifications:

* 3-5 years rental industry & mechanic experience essential

* Good managerial skills

* Excellent customer service and communication skills

* Good telephone etiquette

* Excellent questioning and problem solving skills

* Excellent reading and comprehension skills

* Basic math skills

* Technical competence

* Good attitude and interpersonal skills
