Summary:

The Program Director will guide and manage the development and optimization of analytics to drive Health Equity business outcomes for CHRISTUS Health. This expert-level technical role will involve acquiring, structuring of data and promotion of analytics. This job will be responsible for managing the operational activities of the Health Equity team involving all data management & analytics. This individual will also act as the liaison between the business users/stakeholders and the Information Services (IS) and Finance teams operationalizing data management and analytics efforts. The Program Director will lead the development of the Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (HEDI) analytics, standards and documentation, in collaboration with all the technology teams.

The Program Director will establish work priorities, and plans; directs and monitors project work. Maintains department scorecard, leading and lagging measures, project issues, provides updates to the Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Council, and communicates to the project steering teams on progress of critical path items. The Program Director will gather and evaluate information concerning a ministries' conceptual needs, estimate and schedule project activities and associated costs, coordinate and participate in analysis/design/coding activities, ensure that system changes are fully tested, ensure users are fully trained and prepared, associated guidelines and procedure requirements are met, and coordinate implementation of changes. This role will report to the Executive leader for Community Health and Health Equity.

Responsibilities:


  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Leads the analytics projects, including creation of the analytics road map to support business objectives.
  • Delivers analytics project work stream through direct ownership of all phases of analytics development and business consumption, including data ingestion, validation, mining, and engineering, as well as modeling, visualization, and communication deliverables.
  • Serves as data acquisition, data curation, visualization, and data science expert, using experience in measurement and evaluation methodology to lead and deliver on business objectives.
  • Drives data model design to capture HEDI information from patient/consumer facing workflows.
  • Operationalizes, integrates multiple data sets, and ensures databases and data-feeds are optimally functioning and stabilized across multiple EHR, financial, and market strategy platforms.
  • Builds and enables tools that help the organization translate reporting & insights into action at scale and inform strategic interventions.
  • Drives new metrics, tracking methodologies and data visualizations to better understand patient experience, health needs, patient behavior, patient health determinants.
  • Utilizes a hypothesis-driven problem-solving approach to design, construct, and rapidly test/iterate exploratory analyses that will reveal insight and opportunities.
  • Builds analytics solutions using variety of big data technologies and analytics tools, and create robust documentation of methodologies, underlying design decisions, operating procedures, and solutions.
  • Supports seamless execution of governance and executive level reporting.
  • Leads business requirements development, documentation and tracking needs by partnering closely with ISM team.
  • Provides technical expertise to IS in setup, implementation, and maintenance of HEDI business intelligence design methodology, tracking, tagging and processes.
  • Supports the team by relating problem solving from his/her own real-world experiences.
  • Evaluates industry best practices for patient satisfaction, and achieving health equity, from dashboards, performance tools, and operational opportunities.
  • Manages and supports cross-functional analytics team requests with ad-hoc data mining and reporting requests.
  • Directs the design for health equity predictive analytics modeling and advanced data visualization techniques.
  • Establishes and monitor key performance indicators related to health equity, maintaining a department dashboard.
  • Spearheads health equity data analytics by gathering, compiling, modeling, validating, and analyzing data needed by the organization.
  • Uses knowledge of automated systems in a production/operations environment to guide the progressive development of automated health equity reporting.
  • Develops and implements structure for geo-spatial decision support reporting to regions with dynamic real-time indicators to inform systemic and public policies.
  • Manages multiple projects, as well as meet time constraints and expectations, using time-management skills and organizational agility to balance multiple deliverables, cross-functional partners and priorities under tight timelines.
  • Uses functional knowledge of Machine Learning concepts to drive predictive modeling, AI automation workflows, and to augment human actions.
  • Uses experience working with Big Data and/or data systems; predictive modeling for risk behaviors in healthcare; data collection methods and data quality management techniques; database management concepts and requirements gathering, and data presentation or informatics.
  • Possesses experience with translating business requirements and technical requirements.
  • Possesses understanding of health care regulations, and quality reporting (i.e., Joint Commission, National Committee for Quality Assurance, CMS, etc.).
  • Extracts multiple data-sets, writes complex SQL queries and builds Excel tables.
  • Conducts detailed root-cause analyses, integrates multiple data sets, generates insights and provides innovative business solutions.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills


  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Project, etc.) and/or very strong technical skills required.
  • Advanced knowledge of population health segmentation, Predictive Analytics, Exploratory data analysis, Data mining, (tagging implementation and data extraction) and marketing models such as profit, response models required.
  • Advanced knowledge of ArcGIS or Power BI preferred.

Experience


  • Previous experience managing people and projects of large to high-profile scope and complexity, achieving goals on or ahead of schedule required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on development experience in analytics function with patient quality data, finance, conducting actuarial analysis required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with advanced SQL programming required.
  • Proven experience as an Epic EHR certified Cogito Business Intelligence Developer, including Epic native Dashboards (Radar) and
  • Reporting (Reporting Workbench) required.
  • Python programming experience in data analytics function is preferred.
  • Experience with Population Health management analytics in healthcare industry.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications


  • The following certifications are preferred;

    • Epic Cogito Certifications strongly preferred.
    • Epic Clarity Clinical Data Model Certification preferred.
    • Epic Caboodle Certification preferred.
    • Epic SlicerDicer Advanced User Certification preferred.
