Overview
ExamWorks is looking for a General Manager to join our team! The General Manager oversees all aspects of the operations and sales including: physician relations, scheduling, chart preparation, quality assurance, information technology, examination clinics, transcription, sales, marketing, business development, team building, and staff development. The General Manager demonstrates outstanding leadership and effectively delegates responsibilities, organizes complex projects, and establishes priorities consistent with company objectives. The schedule for this role is standard Monday to Friday hours.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the business as it relates to the overall performance and financial results.
- The General Manager will create an annual budget and manage the business to meet or exceed the budgeted objectives including revenue, contribution margin, expenses, and EBITDA.
- Demonstrates leadership to all company employees and directly supervises all members of the unit's management team.
- Provides strategic vision and planning for existing services and aids in the development of new products and services.
- As required, represents the business unit at all meetings to both internal and external audiences, including presentations via phone, webinar, and/or in-person.
- Communicates pertinent information regarding the status of the company to upper management and/or to all appropriate individuals within the company.
- Maintain and or delegate the completion of all required business unit recordkeeping, including, but not limited to, client contracts, vendor contracts, and employment records.
- Manage all office needs including, but not limited to, lease contacts, service/vendor contracts, maintenance needs, etc.
- Organize and manage the development, implementation and review of all unit policies and procedures.
- Assists appropriate staff members in analyzing the market and competition to identify all external threats and opportunities.
- When needed, meet with clients and attend various functions involving client entertainment.
- Ensure that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Regional Vice President or President of the company.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervise and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ExamWorks' policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Adhere to all hiring procedures in accordance with the company's Hiring Policy and Procedures Guide.
- Ensure effective and efficient training procedures are in place and adhered to.
- Delegate and direct work duties as needed.
- Ensure periodic performance feedback is communicated to all staff and conduct annual performance evaluations as needed.
- Promote a positive working environment through appropriate recognition and reward programs.
- Handle and/or oversee all employee disciplinary actions.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor degree in business management or related field; or minimum five years related experience in executive management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of claims management relative to workers' compensation, no-fault, liability, and disability is essential in performing the required job duties well.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to follow instructions and respond to upper managements' directions accurately
- Must be knowledgeable in multiple software programs, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met.
- Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed.
- Must be able to work independently, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to demonstrate and promote a positive team -oriented environment.
- Must be able to stay focused and concentrate under normal or heavy distractions.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and or stressful conditions.
- Must possess the ability to manage and direct change, delays, or unexpected events appropriately.
- Must hold a valid state Driver's License
