Responsibilities

Peraton has an immediate need for a Senior Program Director. This is a strategic leadership role within Peraton which is responsible for the successful technical, schedule, and financial performance of a major portfolio in support of the US Postal Service (USPS). The Senior Program Director will lead a large and diverse technical team in accordance with direction from senior executives, contract requirements, company policies, procedures and guidelines. Likewise, the Senior Program Director will oversee the growth of new and follow-on business within assigned areas of responsibility by identifying opportunities, developing effective solutions, establishing close relations with the customer, and leading major proposal efforts.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

    Manage, lead, and mentor a diverse technical team of employees and subcontractors in support of USPS critical IT services. This requires significant experience in leading complex technical projects and programs through all phases of software development life cycle. A deep technology background with infrastructure management, application development, modernization, migration, optimization, support, and management as well as expertise with data analytics and emerging cloud technologies is required.
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with USPS executives and senior management by providing value-added solutions and delivery that aligns to the customer's strategic goals. Likewise, establish and maintain a high level of intimacy throughout the USPS leadership to provide effective and responsive support to their organization while advancing Peraton's strategic position.
  • Lead growth of Peraton's portfolio for Cloud and Infrastrucuture at USPS and lead key pursuits from a business development and capture perspective. This includes developing opportunities from early stage in collaboration with key technology partners and the customer while integrating Peraton core offerings to provide effective solutions and value-based outcomes. Essential qualities include the ability to lead a cross-functional team, provide subject matter expertise, technical solutioning, and execute in alignment with USPS Delivering for America plan as part of Peraton's full lifecycle business development and growth strategy.
  • Support the USPS account's strategic plan - As part of the annual account plan, and together with Peraton's USPS account leadership team, develop the short and long-term strategic plans for the target solution space. Also included in the account planning effort is the ongoing assessment of incumbent resources, identifying key skill/capability gaps, and documenting plans to close those gaps.
  • Manage delivery and administration of Peraton's task order portfolio for services at USPS. Ownership of P&L and related metrics performance of this portion of the USPS overall account. Oversee direct reports who manage day-to-day client support activities provided by both Peraton employees and partners/subcontractors. Participate hands-on in design and delivery of key solutions within the target space. Provide mentorship to junior staff. Identify training programs, as well as skill acquisition approaches, to position Peraton as capable, certified, experienced service provider to the USPS customer in the target solution space.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 18 years of experience, extensive management experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Managed a $10M Profit and Loss portfolio while overseeing a team of 50+ employees
  • Excellent executive level oral and written communications skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and a high degree of creative thinking, operating independently within the corporate framework with a keen sense of personal responsibility and bias for results.
  • Must have the ability to apply business management, financial concepts, and contracts knowledge to analyze business needs and develop recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong teams, recruit top talent, and develop colleagues of all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and to deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated successful performance interacting with comfortably with all levels of management and actively participate on senior leadership teams.
  • Experience in identifying and applying innovative ideas to business problems and shepherding them through the development stage to implementation and successful adoption.
  • Demonstrated background in the engineering/operations management of large scale, mission critical, compute and network IT infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated background in the management of cloud infrastructure, associated migrations, and hybrid operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and or Master's degree
  • Managed a $40M Profit and Loss portfolio while overseeing a team of 200+ employees.
  • Knowledge and experience with US Postal Service
  • Prior executive experience (Director, Vice President, etc.)
  • Deep technical background in IT
  • Past career experience as an IT architect and/or engineer
  • Current Public Trust or higher level of clearance

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
