Description |
The Utility Operator performs all functions necessary for the manufacture of finished products. Duties include but are not limited to shipping and receiving, waste-water treatment, maintenance, and housekeeping as assigned and as necessary for the efficient operation of production. |
Job Details |
Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Operates fork-lift and conducts daily fork-lift inspections
- Loads and unloads tank trucks, trailer trucks, and railcars
- Completes data sheets and logs sheets as required for all tasks
- Operates and maintains the waste treatment system, DAF unit, and wastewater tank levels
- Performs general maintenance and cleaning
- Performs duties necessary for stormwater and waste-water maintenance
- Maintains good housekeeping in all areas
- Constant vigilance that all safety rules and procedures are followed at all times
Compliance:
- Complies with company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
- Reports all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
- Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times

- Active participation in continuous improvement activities
- Participates in problem-solving
- Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business
- Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members

- Ability to climb ladders and stairs (up to 8 stories)

- Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive, physical work such as lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 pounds

Education and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Six months to one year industrial experience
- Familiarization with names of chemicals and materials contained in formulas and finished products preferred
- Basic Math Skills
- Mechanical ability and working knowledge of pipe, pipe fittings, and general piping layout preferred
