What You'll Do
|
Summary/Objective: The BSA Team Leader is responsible for direct oversight of the BSA/AML team members, conducting quality assurance oversight of BSA related requirements such as alerts, CTRs, SARs and reviews of new membership and OFAC reviews. Actively participate in the annual examination and audit, identifying opportunities and providing recommendations for process improvements. Assist DCU's BSA Officer in executing DCU's BSA policy by ensuring that the daily tasks are completed by the BSA team, allowing the BSA Officer to focus on the broader application of the BSA program across DCU. - Oversee the daily BSA functions which include: OFAC, Alerts, SARs, CTRs and Quality Assurance.
- Prepare and provide on-site support for BSA audits and exams.
- Assist in monthly reporting.
- Assist in developing Management Responses to BSA audits and exams and oversee implementation of any changes or modifications needed as a result.
- Assist with ongoing training of staff as well as onboarding of new BSA/AML employees.
- Ensure timely filing of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and completion of the daily SMURF report.
- Maintain working knowledge of DCU's account opening applications and work with Vendor liaison to manage change requests.
- Collaborate with Fraud Team Leaders on cross-department investigations and assist in answering BSA related questions.
- Ensure the automated BSA/AML System (Verafin) is operating efficiently, that daily reports are received in a timely manner, and that each day's CTRs and SARs have been successfully submitted.
- Responsible for analysis of Verafin daily logs to validate data delivery and remediate any issues directly with Verafin if any discrepancies or errors are found.
- Assist in the review and provide recommendations for updates to the BSA/AML Risk Assessment and BSA Program on no less than annual basis.
- Complete all required Bank Secrecy Act related training annually and maintain an ongoing in-depth knowledge of DCU BSA/AML, UIGEA and OFAC policies and regulatory requirements.
- Make outgoing calls and/or send letters to members as necessary. Take escalated incoming calls from members, front line and back office staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility: Oversee BSA team members (this may include BSA/AML Specialists, Analysts or Business Specialists)

What You'll Need
|
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Advanced experience in state and federal compliance regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) and actions required by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
- Advanced experience, knowledge and training in management and supervisory activities
- ACAMS or comparable certification (preferred)
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in BSA/AML or related fields

- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
