The Opportunity

The Industrial Engineering and Management Systems (IEMS) Department at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applicants for two full-time, 9-month, non-tenure earning lecturer or associate lecturer positions with an anticipated start date of August 8, 2025.

We invite applications from candidates interested in teaching in the following areas:

Position 1 - Probability and Statistics for Engineers, Senior Design (Industrial Engineering)/Praxis (Data Science), Stochastic Methods for OR, Facilities Planning and Work Design, Quality Engineering, Machine Learning/Python (at undergraduate level), and Internship Courses (interface with industry) among other courses offered by the department.

Position 2 - Systems Engineering, Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, Operations Engineering, and System Simulation.

IEMS is one of seven departments in the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS). The department provides outstanding undergraduate education, engages in collaborative and multidisciplinary research, and offers excellent graduate programs that appeal to students of diverse interests and backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned doctorate degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution at the time of application.

For position one (1) to be eligible for appointment as an associate lecturer upon hire, the selected candidate must have at least three (3) years of full-time university-level teaching experience and at least three (3) years of industrial experience.

For position two (2), to be eligible for appointment as an associate lecturer upon hire, the selected candidate must have at least three (3) years of full-time university-level undergraduate and graduate teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

For both positions:


  • Experience teaching in undergraduate and/or graduate programs related to industrial engineering.

  • Classroom teaching experience at the graduate and baccalaureate level in industrial engineering.

  • Experience in online course development and instruction.


In addition to the preferred qualifications above, for position one (1) it is preferred that:

  • The selected candidate has a strong background in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Databases.
