NWACC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Men's Head Soccer Coach to launch and develop its inaugural men's soccer programs. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious leader to build a comprehensive NJCAA soccer program from the ground up. The coach will be responsible for all aspects of starting and managing the program, including recruiting, scheduling, training, and fostering academic success. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing student-athletes on and off the field, a commitment to the college's mission, and the vision to establish a competitive and respected program in the region.
Essential Duties
Program Development
Lead the design and implementation of the men's soccer programs, including creating short-term and long-term strategies for competitive success. Develop and implement team policies, procedures, and a culture that promotes respect, integrity, teamwork, and accountability and aligns with the vision and policies of the NWACC Athletic Department. Collaborate with the Athletic Director to secure necessary equipment, uniforms, and facilities for training and competition. Develop and strengthen relationships with donors and community stakeholders by actively engaging in fundraising initiatives, organizing community outreach events, and fostering partnerships that align with the organization's mission and goals. Collaborate closely with the Women's Head Soccer Coach to ensure consistent programming and resources are available for teams. Provide opportunities for the teams and coaching staff to engage with each other for comprehensive program alignment.
Recruitment and Retention
Identify and recruit prospective student-athletes who align with the college's academic and athletic goals. Establish relationships with high school and club coaches in the region to build a recruiting pipeline. Focus on the holistic development of student-athletes, ensuring academic success and retention through mentoring and support.
Coaching and Player Development
Plan and execute all aspects of team practices, conditioning, and game preparation. Develop individual skills and team tactics to ensure the program remains competitive in the NJCAA. Foster an environment of personal growth, leadership, and sportsmanship among student-athletes. Establish relationships with NCAA and club coaches in the region to build relationships for players to continue their college and/or professional career.
Game and Event Management
Schedule and coordinate all games, including conference and non-conference competitions. Work with the Athletic Director and other staff to plan and manage home events, ensuring proper facilities, game-day staffing, and adherence to NJCAA regulations. Develop a scouting and game analysis system to prepare for opponents.
Administrative Responsibilities
Manage the program's budget in coordination with the Athletic Director. Ensure compliance with all NJCAA, regional, and college policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records, including rosters, statistics, and academic progress reports. Coordinate and participate in community engagement initiatives and fundraising activities to promote the program and enhance resources.

Working Conditions
Requires work on evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Travel for recruiting, games, and tournaments is required. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions during outdoor practices and competitions.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of three years of successful coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level.
- Strong knowledge of the rules, regulations, and best practices in soccer, particularly NJCAA standards.
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting and developing student-athletes.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience starting or building a program.
- Previous collegiate coaching experience
- Understanding of the academic demands and challenges faced by student-athletes.
