THE ROLE:

Join the global Quality Returns Verification team which develops test capability of customer returns. Serve as the technical lead for a team of engineers developing test content for customer returns. Coordinate with other engineering teams at AMD to deliver test capability compatible with testing customer returns. In the pursuit of optimizing test coverage and capability, interface with various engineering teams within AMD, including Production Test teams, Silicon Design, Quality Debug, Platforms Engineering, Diagnostics, and Software Engineering.

THE PERSON:

A self-motivated, creative problem solver with a data centric mindset and strengths in time-management, technical and management level communication, and engineering mentorship. Experience leading a team of engineers and influencing across organizations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate upcoming silicon and test infrastructure health. Determine approaches to test customer returns accordingly.
  • Monitor information provided by Quality teams on silicon health and drive coverage decisions accordingly.
  • Assess risk of coverage gaps, comparing IP and test capability
  • Address gaps in test coverage by developing new solutions and influencing solutions developed by other teams
  • Define technical capability roadmap and supervise engineering team's technical progress to achieve new capabilities.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience leading a team of engineers in a technical program management capacity
  • Extensive experience with silicon production level testing (ATE and System Level Testing) or similar experience developing coverage on customer returns
  • Experience working across organization lines and across a dispersed global team to gather information and make collective decisions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to be present technical information concisely to peers, directors, and above.
  • Experience with x86 architecture and functionality in various compute platforms including CPU/APU, GPU; Client, Server and Datacenters
  • Experience with low level and high-level programing languages.
  • Expertise in Platform level analysis including both software and hardware elements.
  • Proficient with Ubuntu OS, including the ability to compile and install kernels, edit drivers, and debug functionality issues.
  • Proficient with Windows OS, including familiarity with event logs and automation of functions using PowerShell. Familiarity with Secure Boot & EFI Boot Loaders.
  • Engineering problem solving skills, including problem definition, experiment design and execution.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • MS EE or equivalent
