The Senior Product Manager, Tableau will play a pivotal role in driving First Tech's Tableau strategy forward, by owning and leading visible, strategic projects and initiatives that enable our stakeholders to discover, trust and effectively govern their data. As a subject matter expert in the business and technical administration of Tableau, you will work closely with the end user community to understand their business needs, use cases, and find creative ways to make them successful. This includes planning, developing, implementing, and managing projects, initiatives, procedures, and processes that optimize Tableau utilization for all users across the enterprise.

Job Duties
  • Define the overall product vision and roadmap for Tableau ensuring alignment withthe Enterprise Data & Analytics Center of Excellence and overall enterprise goals and objectives.
  • Conduct market research, stakeholder interviews, and competitive analysis to inform Tableau product strategy and direction.
  • Evangelize the vision constantly so all stakeholders are aligned, have context, and understand where we are going.
  • Develop strategies that enable the analyst community to adopt standards and best practices that support work product certification and other projects/initiatives.
  • Lead vendor relationship and quarterly business reviews.
  • Be an expert on market trends in business intelligence, data science, analytic tools and best practices to proactively inform and keep fresh the overall Tableau roadmap and product strategy.
  • Provide stakeholders, team members and partners with thought leadership and coaching on the use of Tableau and Tableau Prep, and the management and maintenance of the platform.
  • Lead and execute business and content administration of Tableau, including site creation, security, user permissions, licensing, content certification and migration
  • Partner with Business Intelligence and Analytics Enablement Program Lead to develop evolving training and certification programs to ensure optimization of analyst and leader skills in adopting and effectively utilizing Tableau features and capabilities.
  • Partner with IT team to establish and execute software/hardware upgrades, patches and maintenance planning; Monitor server activity/usage statistics to identify possible performance issues/enhancements.
  • Proactively partner with stakeholders to plan and design optimal solutions and provide user support to resolve issues.
  • Educate and train stakeholder/partner teams on how to leverage Tableau's capabilities.
  • Provide learning and best practices to analyst community on proper design, development methodologies, and visualizations to tell a story with data.
  • Create, maintain and update all Tableau training and reference material on various source sites.
  • Deliver presentations to and support the adoption of Tableau services and tools for various user groups.
  • Establish and share best practices to maximize the use and value of the Tableau platform, provide a consistent, performant and quality developer and user experience.
  • Capture and communicate end user success stories and value drivers for enterprise-wide visibility.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 6 years' experience with Tableau as a developer and/or administrator
  • Proficiency in developing business intelligence artifacts, such as dashboards and visualizations, with Tableau
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills and the ability to self-manage involvement in multiple concurrent areas of responsibility; proven ability to exercise sound judgment and take initiative
  • Ability to successfully drive projects, processes and change management concepts in a dynamic and complex operating environment
  • Demonstrated record of consulting and successfully working in complex, matrixed environments to build and maintain positive relationships and accomplish goals; ability to lead through influence
  • Ability to deliver effective stakeholder presentations to both peer and executive level audiences
  • Ability to make logical connections between business processes, data and analytics capabilities, and data standards
  • Ability to work autonomously to manage time effectively and prioritize work appropriately to meet deadlines
  • Strong ability to communicate proactively and breakdown complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong business communication skills; able to write/speak clearly and professionally for a variety of audiences
  • Strong conceptual and process-thinking abilities; excellent attention to detail and ability to focus on the big-picture
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering and transforming Tableau product requirements into an actionable product roadmap that is aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Ability to prioritize, project-manage, problem solve, and drive progress forward under pressured timelines.
  • Experience in driving projects and initiatives that create efficiencies, improve data accessibility and data trustworthiness
  • Proficiency with query programming languages (such as SQL, Python/R)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; especially Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree (preferably in Business Administration, Mathematics or Statistics) preferred, or equivalent work experience
Location: Hillsboro, OR 97124 | (HYBRID)
Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR: $136k - $145k annually + annual bonus
