Position Summary
The University of North Carolina School of Medicine is seeking a clinical faculty member to practice in our multi-specialty academic practice in Wilmington, NC. This team is part of an innovative partnership between UNC Health, UNC School of Medicine and Novant Health to provide specialty care to children from communities throughout southeastern and coastal NC. The Novant Health - New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NH- NHRMC) facility is a full spectrum community-based, multispecialty practice and a children's hospital that includes a 45 bed Level III NICU, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and inpatient unit. Through the partnership between Novant Health and UNC Children's, NH- NHRMC is the tertiary care referral hospital for children in Coastal and Southeastern NC.

This position would join two other pediatric neurologist based at the Wilmington regional campus and two excellent advanced practice providers. The candidate must be board certified / eligible in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology and additional training in either sleep medicine or epilepsy is preferred, but not required. Ability to interpret EEGs is required. The faculty member will also be expected to develop and perform clinical activities in surrounding outreach locations in Southeastern NC. There is an ongoing expansion of educational opportunities with medical students, other health profession students, and residents in Wilmington. Though not the primary focus of the center, research opportunities are also available. This is a full-time, open rank clinical faculty position, on the fixed term track with the option of part-time.

Salary will be based on experience and aligned to community-based specialist rates. The benefit package is extremely generous. Incentive compensation will support highly productive providers and meet other targets aligned with broad system goals.

Wilmington, NC is a charming, coastal city of ~125,000 people located in the southeastern corner of North Carolina between the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean. It is a popular destination because of its moderate, four-season climate, historic preservation district, annual cultural events, and numerous championship golf courses. The historic downtown offers a 1.75-mile River walk and the nearby Wrightsville, Carolina and Kure Beaches are all within half-hour drives from downtown Wilmington.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
The candidate must be board certified / eligible in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology. Ability to interpret EEGs is required

Additional training in either sleep medicine or epilepsy is preferred, but not required
