What You Can Expect Working in the Logistics Coordinator Position

The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in managing asset receipt, movements, inventory accuracy, and location requirements. This position oversees the coordination of assets across departments to ensure the necessary resources are available for contract fulfillment. Using forecasting tools, the Logistics Coordinator anticipates future demands, providing management with critical insights to assess assets and resource capacity accurately. This role collaborates closely with the Sales team, offering guidance on inventory availability for customer RFQs. The role also collaborates closely with the Operations team to understand capacity and scheduling needs. By aligning customer needs with internal and external resources, the Logistics Coordinator enhances efficiency and productivity, ensuring timely delivery and ongoing project support. This position may also involve occasional direct communication with customers to address contract and asset-related inquiries.

Responsibilities
  • Directs the distribution of assets to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, and/or timeliness objectives to support company goals and initiatives.
  • Reviews and communicates between departments the contractual commitments, customer specifications, or related information to determine logistics or support requirements.
  • Evaluates inventory condition and availability by using the inventory control tracking systems.
  • Conducts analysis of product to use when defining schedule of modifications, repairs, other maintenance.
  • Defines and coordinates activities required for customer schedules.
  • Communicates and works with other departments to understand products, specs, installation requirements.
  • Assist in forecasting inventory and resource needs.
  • Performs analytical support for inventory changes and adjustments.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 3+ years of business experience.
  • High level of analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, construction, logistics or inventory management.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) with intermediate skills with Excel.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Forecasting and Reporting.
  • Experience in supply chain and/or inventory.
  • Experience with ERP.
  • Knowledge of inventory/order processing software such as SAGE.
  • Knowledge of database/contact management software such as CRM.
