Performs repairs and maintains facilities in plant or office facilities and building management systems and auxiliary equipment. Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, painting, BMS software troubleshooting, machine, and auxiliary equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication and welding. Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Uses hand and power tools. Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs all types of Facilities equipment. Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.

Primary Responsibilities:




  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on Compressors, Vacuum pumps, backup generators, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions of all types of equipment including support equipment.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments to diagnose and resolve problems. Must be proficient with VOM to troubleshoot and resolve electrical circuits and motor controls.
  • Demonstrate competence in using a VOM to identify and verify potential energy hazards. Must be able to perform all LOTO procedures for troubleshooting and cross functional departments as needed.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Must be able to proficiently use hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges for making equipment/facilities repairs.
  • Must be able to work cross functionally with all departments to plan, communicate and execute equipment and facilities downtime according to production schedules and business needs.
  • Fabricates, repairs, parts by using machine shop tools, including welders, grinders, and various fabrication tools while adhering to all PPE and safety requirements.
  • Must be proficient at safely operating milling and turning equipment while also following industry standards for milling and turning equipment.
  • Responsible for ensuring maintenance spares and supplies are properly inventoried and assigned to work orders. Including issuing out parts to a Work Order to ensure inventory levels are maintained. Must be able to identify and anticipate parts, supplies and repairs that needed for preventing equipment failure. Must be able to cross functionally work with the parts planner and maintenance manager to order, expedite and plan proactively.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by being mindful of departmental budgets and labor hours for inhouse and contracted work.
  • Must assist and drive continual improvement of equipment/facilities by working cross functionally with other departments willing providing answers to questions and data reporting.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends to improve Preventive Maintenance procedures.
  • Must accurately document all work orders with detailed notes and explanations of work performed.
  • Must follow the companies CMMS/SAP maintenance process by accurately recording equipment down time and repair time for preventative and reactive work orders.
  • Quality long term repairs must be completed when working on production and facilities equipment. Maintains an eye for detail for future improvements while adhering to industry standards.
  • Ability to proficiently operate manlifts, boom lifts, forklifts and all other equipment as needed.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment and by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs., work overhead, climb internal and external ladders, walk long distances, and stand for extended periods. Bending, stooping, and kneeling for extended periods is required.
  • Must work in all climates and surfaces and shovel snow and various aggregate as needed.


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to efficiently diagnose advanced mechanical and electrical problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Training and certifications in electrical and mechanical maintenance is required.
  • 7 years of maintenance experience with Equipment and facilities Maintenance, Technical Understanding, Technical Zeal, Deals with Uncertainty, advanced Safety, Power Tools, Attention to Detail, Flexibility in work schedule as job requires, little or no Supervision required, Job Knowledge, Productivity and computer skills are necessary.
