The position of Superintendent Operations, Marseilles facility reports directly to General Manager, Feed Operations.

The Superintendent Operations, Marseilles is responsible for overall effective leadership and direction of the Marseilles Operation facility. This incumbent is also responsible for maintaining the technical expertise of the Department employees, monitoring their skill sets and development of training plans. What you will do:

• The position of the Operations Superintendent is essential to the Phosphate Operations by helping to accomplish Nutrien's mission statement of no harm to people and the environment by overseeing all aspects of plant operations and providing direct supervision to all Operations Personnel in day-to-day activities.
• Administration of all site safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA.
• Responsible for PSM (Process Safety Management) as required for site facility.
• Budgetpreparation and adherence.
• Productionplanning, including gaining marketing approval of the annual productionplan.
• Production monitoring.
• Staff development and management.
• Turnaround scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
• Creating and developing new ideas for advanced company growth.
• Evaluating and decision-making on daily production and maintenance activity.
• Maintaining compliance with environmental, safety, and governmental regulations (EPA; State DEQ; OSHA; EEOC; DOT; etc.) including internal/external audits, regulatory reporting, and spill/release reporting.
• Participate in Animal Food Quality and Safety Management Review meetings.
• Effectively communicating with internal and external.
• Demonstrates strong initiative and the ability to effectively manage tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision
• Exhibits exceptional problem-solving, troubleshooting, and diagnostic abilities to effectively address and resolve technical challenges
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information and collaborate with team members and stakeholders
• Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently by prioritizing them and developing effective timelines to ensure successful completion
• Demonstrates strong personnel management skills, leading teams effectively and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
• Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and thrives in a fast-paced team environment, contributing effectively to collaborative efforts and achieving shared goals
• Requires the ability to travel approximately 15% of the time to various Feed site locations for the purposes of attending meetings, conducting audits, and facilitating training sessions

What you will bring:

• High School Diploma, Required
  
  
  
  • B.S. degree in engineering, business, or related degree, Preferred
  
  
  
  
• Minimum of 3+ years in a Supervisory with Direct Reports
• 5 Years related Industry Experience, Required
• Possess excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with SAP is a plus
