Description/Job Summary

The Project Manager is accountable for organizing, monitoring and reporting on projects which, depending on complexity, may involve working independently or under direct supervision and guidance. In all project situations, the incumbent will apply project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques.



Responsibilities/Duties

Project Management



  • Promotes, contributes to, and utilizes project management methodology/tools to support initiatives
  • Ensures the project management process is followed and project management deliverables are completed for all assigned projects from initiation through closure. Projects will include in-house development as well as implementation of third-party vendor products
  • Defines project scope, budget, and timelines that support the business goal working in conjunction with business partners
  • Develops project deliverables including but not limited to:

    • Project Charters
    • Impact Assessments
    • Work plans
    • Schedules
    • Milestones
    • Resource Plans
    • Status Reports


  • Maintains familiarity with project scope and objectives, as well as the role and function of cross functional teams/committees in projects to effectively coordinate activities
  • Escalates projects as needed when they reach at-risk status
  • Manages project documentation and deliverables including but not limited to: Items previously listed, Risk log, Issue log, Project status reports, Requirement docs, and Go Live documentation
  • Facilitates development of test cases, coordinates testing, creates documentation, and facilitates remediation efforts
  • Identifies and manages cross-project interdependencies, escalating risks from interdependencies when needed
  • Communicates frequently with Process Improvement Manager to ensure projects and development align with association strategy/goals


Relationship



  • Acts as a liaison with Association subject matter experts, third party technology vendors and other Association partners.
  • Builds strong relationships with all stakeholders
  • Develops a network of both external and internal relationships


Change Enablement



  • Participates/Leads kickoff meetings and other appropriate launch activities to support group understanding and objectives
  • Effectively communicates in support of project execution and works efficiently with project stakeholders
  • Serves as a champion for initiatives and breaks down implications to digestible pieces for staff
  • Works cooperatively with other teams to develop the communication/change enablement plan and associated training plan as a component of each project plan


Data Security and Confidentiality



  • Appropriately protects the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association's systems and data and clients' data


Required Skills



  • Proficient skill in computer technology
  • Working knowledge of project management principles and processes
  • Ability to assess business requirements and problem solve to identify a solution
  • Attention to detail to compile and review business requirements, project plans and testing plans
  • Skill in active listening, allowing understanding and communication of requirements and performance execution.
  • Skill in interacting and working effectively with others
  • Skill in organizing material and information in a systematic way to optimize efficiency
  • Skill in developing new ways to approach work
  • Skill in working independently as well as in a team environment
  • Oral and written communication skills, sufficient to exchange information effectively with a variety of audiences, including management, subject matter experts and vendors


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or related field and 5 years related work experience;

Or equivalent education, experience, and skillset sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

CAPM, PMP, BPM certification strongly preferred
