2 years Application Window Open date: February 11, 2025 Next review date: Tuesday, Feb 25, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Feb 28, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The UC Merced Department of Bioengineering at the University of California, Merced is seeking a self-motivated, creative, enthusiastic, and qualified postdoctoral scholar to join our highly collaborative and interdisciplinary group working at the interface of engineering and biology. We study the hematopoietic and immune systems in vivo through development and application of novel imaging and sensing tools. For this project, we seek a postdoctoral scholar to study the role of endothelial cells and the blood vascular system in normal thymus function and during regeneration in ways that have not been previously possible through use of novel imaging methods and techniques for direct thymus evaluation. The successful candidate will design, build, and iterate linear and non-linear optical systems for live animal imaging of the thymus. They will use intravital multiphoton microscopy and an array of wet lab techniques in their work. Candidates will be expected to apply for funding during their time as a postdoctoral scholar. Candidates will assist in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students working on related projects. Highly self-motivated individuals who have demonstrated the ability to conduct independent scientific research successfully are desirable. Qualifications Basic qualifications
