What You'll Do:

Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Ensure compliance with all DOT rules and requirements. Ensure compliance with all Safety, Health, Environmental, and other Company policies, procedures, and requirements.

Manage Work Schedules. Manage and coordinate the activities of several dispatchers and customer service representatives to ensure safe, accurate, and on-time delivery of respective products. Prepare work schedules and assign work loads. Schedule drivers and ensure driver hours are in compliance with DOT regulations. Perform functions of Dispatcher and/or Customer Service Representative when necessary.

Provide Customer Service. Ensure resolution of customer issues and concerns.

Collaborate. Participate in the selection, hiring, training, and performance evaluation process of relevant personnel. Coordinate dispatch activities with sales and production.

Champion Continuous Improvement. Ensure efficiencies of manpower and equipment.

Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Education. Associate's Degree is preferred.

Experience. Three years of experience dispatching commercially licensed vehicles is required.

Ready to Drive. Must have a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.

Communication Skills. Must have the ability to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature relating to products and vehicles. Must have the ability to read and understand maps, road instructions, manuals, rules, and regulations.

Technology Skills. Must have the ability to handle frequent distractions from radios and phones. Must be competent in the use of computers. Must be comfortable in the use of associated computer software programs.

Salary Range. The base salary range for this role is between $70,428 - $98,628 annual salary. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
