The Finance Manager in the Transformation Office at Medica plays a critical role in supporting financial planning, governance, and performance tracking for strategic transformation initiatives. Reporting directly to the Senior Finance Director, this position ensures that financial oversight, investment tracking, and reporting align with Medica's broader strategic objectives. This role collaborates closely with the Transformation Office leadership and cross-functional teams to drive financial transparency and operational success. This role provides an opportunity to make a significant impact on Medica's transformation agenda by ensuring the financial health and strategic alignment of key initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:



  • Financial Support for Strategic Initiatives

    • Assist in the development and monitoring of business cases for strategic and transformation projects ensuring alignment with Medica's goals.
    • Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making for key investments.


  • Investment Governance and Tracking

    • Manage governance processes for the approval, tracking, and reporting of financial investments across projects.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial performance relative to budgets and forecasts.


  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting

    • Develop and maintain dashboards and financial reports, in partnership with Transformation Office operations, to communicate project performance to stakeholders.
    • Support executive-level communications and presentations regarding financial portfolio updates.


  • Cross Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with the Operations Transformation Office and department-level finance leads to align on budgeting and operationalization of strategic initiatives.
    • Foster effective communication and coordination between finance, operations, IT, and other key business units.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff as needed, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.


  • Process Improvement and Risk Mitigation

    • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes within the Transformation Office.
    • Assess and mitigate financial risks associated with transformation programs and projects.





Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; combination of education and related work experience will also be considered
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate finance, financial planning, or project-based financial management.
  • Experience in healthcare or insurance strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of financial forecasting, budgeting, and investment governance processes.
  • Proven ability to manage complex business cases and support their financial monitoring.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Adept at building relationships and collaborating across functions and levels, including senior leadership.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
  • Skilled in navigating financial systems and creating clear, actionable reports and dashboards.


This position has the flexibility to be hybrid from our Minnetonka, MN office and also has an option to be remote based on location. To be eligible for remote employment consideration, candidates must have a current primary home address located within any state where Medica is registered as an employer - AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, IL, KS, KY, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, OK, SD, TN, TX, VA, WI.

The full salary range for this position is $98,400 - $168,600 . Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to compensation, Medica offers a generous total rewards package that includes competitive medical, dental, vision, PTO, Holidays, paid volunteer time off, 401K contributions, caregiver services and many other benefits to support our employees.
