Are you passionate about working with women and children and making a positive impact? The Loudoun County Health Department is seeking a dedicated Nutritionist/Site Supervisor to join our Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) team. This position is responsible for day-to-day operation of the Loudoun County WIC clinic; planning and managing daily clinic activities and supervising WIC staff.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Oversees clinic site operation, staffing, and client scheduling.
* Analyzes caseload and other reports to determine client load, staff scheduling, equipment, and clinic supplies.
* Interviews clients to assess symptoms and deficiencies in nutritional status.
* Provides high-risk counseling to clients and enrolls them in the WIC program.
* Oversees and performs lab tests and takes measurements.
* Evaluates medical records and laboratory results.
* Calculates nutritional density of meals and ensures nutrient levels based on Recommended Daily Allowances (RDAs).
* Develops, modifies, and presents normal and therapeutic diets to clients.
* Plans, provides, and documents individual/group nutrition education to WIC clients regarding establishing good eating habits, weight control, nutritional needs during pregnancy, and related nutritional risks.
* Promotes breastfeeding and certifies pregnant women for WIC at intake appointment.
* Participates in other activities of the nutrition program and the health department including program planning, staff meetings, and the provision of in-service programs.
* Provides information on United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) food supplement program.
* Attends professional meetings and continuing education activities.
* Ensures compliance with mandated programs; administers federal, state, and/or local mandates, regulations, and policies for mandated programs; and ensures cases and/or policies are prepared and in compliance for audits or reviews.
* Writes reports and develops education materials, forms, and information sheets; reviews/maintains caseload files.
* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field; and satisfactory completion of a program of supervised clinical experience approved by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; and three (3) years of relevant experience.

Preferred:
* A Graduate degree in Nutrition or Public Health is preferred.
* Women, Infants, and Children program (WIC) experience is highly preferred.
* Bilingual or multilingual skill is preferred.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Required to hold and maintain active registration as a Dietician as defined by VA code. Must obtain this active registration within six (6) months of hire-date.

Criminal background check, fingerprinting, and Child Protective Services (CPS) check required.
Pass TB test within 10 days of hire. Hold or obtain First Aid/CPR certifications at hire or within four (4) months of hire. Vaccination or proof of vaccination as required for Health Care Personnel by the Virginia Department of Health.
Meet WIC education and continuing education requirements.
Obtain any Department-required certifications within established time frames of hire.
