Job Summary |
This is a one-year, limited-term appointment. Continuation of employment will be contingent upon the availability of funding.
The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering's Civil and Environmental Engineering department is seeking candidates for the Outreach programs Administrator position. This position will be housed within the Stormwater Research Facility program (AU-
SRF) and will support ongoing and new outreach programs.
Specific job duties include event coordination and preparation, materials management, development of engineering-based training materials and curriculum (printed, online learning modules, videos, etc.), delivery of instructional training, evaluating the effectiveness of educational programming, facilitation of professional development training for educators, data entry and management, and assistance with communications and marketing related to programs.
In addition, the individual selected for this position will assist other AU-
SRF staff to encourage research and collaboration focused on stormwater management. They will represent AU-
SRF at trainings, outreach events, county-based events, and other educational events. They will also assist with the facilitation of AU-
SRF stormwater training workshops (Installer Training, Field Days, etc.) coordination and facilitation, as well as the development of new training programs.
The individual must be willing to assist other AU-
SRF staff to identify and seek extramural funds, implement project deliverables, and complete required reporting for grants.

Essential Functions |
- Develops, organizes, and coordinates outreach programs for targeted groups; assesses program needs, organizes program material; evaluates program success.
- Identifies funding opportunities and writes grant proposals to support program initiatives.
- Meets with clientele to define needs or problem areas.
- Develops and conducts in-service training, which includes program design and delivery.
- Develops or assists in developing marketing plans and publicity materials for distribution to the target audience.
- Manages and assists in the development of budgets and maintains financial records related to a specific activity, project, or service.
- Develop and maintain a database and/or website related to a specific activity, project, or service.
- Acts as a project manager in planning and coordinating activities to support a specific program.
- Oversee digital marketing output such as website, social media or electronic messaging applications
- May research, prepare, and/or write grants, applications, and fundraising proposals to sources at local, state, and national levels.
- May conduct research for an activity, program, or service; write articles and reports and develop strategies and avenues to disseminate the information and research.
- May oversee temporary or full-time personnel needed to assist in day-to-day activities

Minimum Qualifications

Level I: Bachelor's Degree and zero years' experience.
Level II: Bachelor's Degree and two years' experience.
Level
III: Bachelor's Degree and four years' experience. Degree: Discipline related to the program
Experience: in the design, implementation, delivery, and management of educational programs/services
Substitutions allowed for Experience: When a candidate has the required education but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement at a rate of one (1) year of relevant education per year of required experience. |

Desired Qualifications include experience with the following:
- stormwater management, including understanding the design, functionality and expected performance of construction and/or post-construction stormwater practices;
- planning, coordinating, and facilitating outreach and workshops;
- grant writing;
- project management, including organizing tasks, tracking progress, and meeting deadlines;
- teaching or educational outreach in a related field;
- developing and delivering outreach through various platforms, including social media, webinars, and video content;
- holding relevant professional licensure and/or certifications, such as a Professional Engineer (PE) license, Professional Licensed Architect (PLA), Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), or similar credentials.
The ideal candidate is a proactive individual who can set goals and priorities, seek assistance when needed, and complete assigned tasks on time. They should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and agencies. Some travel and evening/weekend work may be required. |
