ChampionX has an immediate need for a Material Handler in our Energy Services group located in Freeport, TX. To be responsible for the safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally complaint operation of the assigned area. Move drums, porta feeds, tote bins and other items from the warehouse or stock area to the loading docks. You may also perform timely goods receipts, put-away of products and potentially relabeling. Conduct inventory on products. Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse and verifies product orders and SDS labeling. Offload railcars and tanker trucks into storage tanks. You are responsible for efficient use of your time and must be open to continued and changing work roles or schedules. What You Will Do:

  • Exhibit safe work habits to ensure a safe working environment. Comply with company safety regulations and guidelines.

  • Support and commits to ChampionX Quality Improvement Process. Plan strategies to ensure error-free work by "doing it right the first time". Convey this attitude in the daily performance of various duties. May participate as a member of various quality teams and may assist in the development of action plans as required.

  • Load, unload, and store packaged finished products, raw materials, supplies and containers.

  • Load, unload, and store bulk truck and railcar finished products and raw materials.

  • Load empty used containers on designated vendor trailers.

  • Cycle count inventory as directed.

  • Pull and stage materials for shipments.

  • Catch samples from packaged materials.

  • Repackage products for shipment or storage.

  • Understand KPI's and working as part of a TEAM toward established objectives.

  • Drives the yard mule to spot trailers within the plant for loading and unloading.

  • Drives the rail car mover to spot railcars within the plant for loading, unloading, and weighing out for shipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in an industrial/plant environment

  • Ability to operate a forklift.

  • Able to work various shifts including weekends.

  • Able to operate a computer device, either handheld or forklift mounted.

  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role

Physical Demands

  • Ability to bend over, squat, climb stairs/ladders.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

  • Ability to don a respirator when necessary.

  • Ability to wear fall protection when necessary.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Some College Education or working toward a degree.

  • Minimum of 4 years working experience in an industrial/plant environment

  • Proficiency in SAP use

  • Previous bulk truck and railcar unloading experience.

  • Ability to operate a yard mule.

  • Ability to operate a railcar mover
