The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Senior Accountant (GL) to support our Corporate Operations at our Orlando, Florida office.

Under supervision of the Senior Finance Manager, the Senior General Ledger Accountant will handle various accounting duties including month end close, production of financial reports and appropriate analysis, general ledger maintenance, commission calculations and overall analysis. This role will be responsible for daily accounting, financial audits, and financial reporting.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare journal entries, cash disbursement, cash receipts, month-end & year-end closing, account analysis, and bank reconciliations

  • Prepare month end reconciliations which may include but are not limited to various bank accounts, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and/or other asset and liability accounts

  • Support monthly financial close including assigned balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations, journal entries and accruals

  • Post journal entries as required for asset, liability and income statement accounts

  • Post AP vouchers as required

  • Assist in providing financial reporting and schedules as requested by management and operations

  • Update documentation of business processes and procedures.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor's degree in related field

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Four (4) years' prior accounting experience

  • Proficient in MS Office specifically MS Excel

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Strict attention to detail, highly organized and efficient

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of US GAAP laws.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in the Deltek Costpoint Accounting System

  • Government accounting experience

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

A background check is required.
