THE POSITION

The Department of Conservation & Natural Resources is on the lookout for a dedicated individual to join their team as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Trainee. This role is crucial as it involves the upkeep and repair of essential water distribution and sewage collection systems, as well as the management of the swimming pool complex. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position plays a supportive role in the upkeep and repair of the park's swimming pool, as well as the water distribution and sewage collection systems along with their related components. This responsibility encompasses a range of tasks, including the preparation of all water systems for winter and the subsequent activation of these systems, which involves pumps, filters, plumbing, restrooms, and bathhouses.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Shift hours and days vary due to operational need, with a 30-minute lunch
  • Weekends, holidays and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months of building maintenance or trades experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:
  • This position requires possession of a PA class C Driver's License.
  • All employees must obtain, within the probationary period, a valid Operator's Certificate, or an Operator in Training Designation issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater System Operators as a wastewater treatment plant operator that is equal to or greater than the classification and sub classification of the wastewater system to be operated or maintained. (Wastewater System Class E Subclass 4.)
Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
