Here's what you'd do:

  • The Trade Finance Intermediate Specialist within the Credit Administration team is a mid-level position with direct responsibility for the processing of Commercial Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees under approved Credit facilities, as well as Documentary Collections in support of the firm's business lines.
  • S/he is a subject matter specialist typically dealing with moderately complex issues as they relate to his/her area of focus.
  • Tasks include processing transactions in accordance with ICC Rules and with client Credit and Compliance Policies in mind, authenticating client instructions, data processing, reporting, reconciliation, faxing, e-mailing, filing and communicating with other departments, operations groups, account managers and clients.
  • This position will also contribute to projects.
  • Transaction Processing
    1. Process transactions such as Commercial Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees under approved Credit facilities as well as Documentary Collections
    2. Manage daily volume.
    3. Perform intraday and end-of-day reconciliation of daily work
    4. Help to ensure all deadlines and requirements are being met
  • Client Service
    1. Provide superior client service
    2. Ensure timely response to internal and external requests
    3. Follow up on open inquiries
  • Risk Management
    1. Help to Identify and document errors to reduce exposure.
    2. Process transactions in accordance with ICC Rules and with client Credit and Compliance Policies
    3. Interact with other client departments on the resolution of issues
    4. Communicate professionally and constructively to resolve issues to minimize risk and exposure effectively
  • Gain efficiencies to improve individual productivity
  • Contribute to Division or Firm process improvement activities.
  • Assist in the development and production of monthly management reporting
  • Assist team members with day-to-day activities when needed/providing backup.

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 6 Months of experience in one or more product areas within Trade Finance/Financial Services
  • Minimum 6 Months of hands-on experience in Letter of Credit and Documentary Collection (Trade Finance) transaction processing
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Banking
  • Minimum 2 years of Trade Finance experience
  • Ability to perform technical responsibilities of the job with a high level of competence
  • Aptitude for thorough and timely research, analysis, and resolution of a problem
  • Ability to communicate professionally through effective verbal and written skills
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively handle multiple assignments
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Proactive self-starter who is goal-oriented.
