JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Abington invites applications for a Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Corporate Communication, to start August 2025. This is a full-time (36-week), non-tenure track appointment with the possibility for renewal. Teaching onsite/on campus is an essential function of the position.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach four assigned courses (12 credits) each semester using traditional, hybrid, and/or fully online delivery modes.
  • Advise and provide career guidance to students.
  • Participate in program, campus, university, and community service activities.

Qualifications:

  • M.A. or PhD in Communication or closely allied area with a focus on Corporate Communication, Strategic Communication, and/or Public Relations by the appointment start date.
  • Organizational scholars and practitioners working in the areas of public relations, AI, persuasion and advocacy, community relations, or mediated communication will be well positioned to apply. Experience working with or teaching quantitative and qualitative research methods is a plus.
  • Evidence of innovative teaching at the college level.
  • A demonstrated record of working effectively with students from diverse backgrounds, including those with varying levels of academic preparation.
