Pay Range: $ 76,000- $109,000 What You'll Do (Essential Duties and Responsibilities): The Manager, Brand Planning and Development is responsible for leading our annual brand planning and reporting process - partnering with Brand Managers to identify insights, objectives, strategies, and tactics to drive growth for Sealy, Tempur-Pedic, and Stearns & Foster brands. They will also partner closely with Customer Marketing to communicate our brand plans to the Sales Team and Tempur Sealy retailers. The Manager, Brand Planning and Development will also lead projects across brands to cultivate and drive growth of incremental revenue streams including brand licensing, partnerships, or other new business opportunities. Reporting to the Senior Brand Manager, Stearns & Foster, they will work closely with the broader Brand Management organization, Brand Activation, Customer Marketing, Global Licensing, Direct-to-Consumer, Sales and Legal. The ideal candidate for this position will champion brand expansion and possess the discipline to effectively lead multiple initiatives across many categories. Brand Strategy and Planning:
- Refine and drive annual brand planning process, partnering with Brand Managers to identify insights, objectives, strategies, and tactics to drive growth across brands.
- Lead Marketing team through regular touchpoints related to reporting on and execution of annual brand plans including Quarterly Business Reviews, cross-functional planning meetings, etc.
- Partner with Brand Managers and Customer Marketing Team to drive process for developing retailer-facing versions of brand plans with clear calls to action to drive adoption and results. (Delivered via three time periods throughout the year.)
- In collaboration with Marketing Leaders, drive development of brand/Marketing narrative for internal sales teams at key events including Sales Managers Meetings, National Sales Conference, etc.
- Support brand teams through annual evaluation and/or updates of foundational strategy tools including key insights, target consumers, personas, and positioning/frameworks.
Business Development & Innovation:
- Support Brand Management leaders in building our innovation pipeline through idea generation, consumer testing, concept evaluation, and advanced development.
- Based on consumer insights and trends, actively evaluate new business and product opportunities to extend TSI brands, partnering with brand managers and Global Licensing Team on execution.
- Serve as liaison between Marketing and Global Licensing, informing Marketing on licensing plans and consulting Licensing to ensure new and existing products maintain brand positioning and guidelines.
- Consult Licensing team and licensee partners in identifying gaps and opportunities in their product portfolios and in developing winning product pipelines that leverage TSI brand innovation priorities.
- Partner with Marketing Leaders, Global Licensing, Sales Development, Insights, and Investor Relations to annually maintain external "pitch" deck for each brand - citing high-level results, awards, accolades, brand plans, etc.
- Support Brand Management Team as needed on new product development initiatives, working alongside NPD and Project Management to drive projects through our tollgate process.
Business Management and Analysis:
- Support the brand management team in driving operational efficiencies including process improvement for product launches, pricing, and promotions. In addution, support team in developing and maintaining Good automated business reporting via PowerBI.
- Maintain pricing database for the TSI product portfolio and competitors; consult Brand Managers on pricing recommendations as needed with a portfolio-level perspective.
- Maintain reports and share insights around relevant portfolio-level data including cannibalization between brands, profitability, etc.
- In partnership with Brand Managers, consult Sales Development and Training Team on portfolio-level merchandising recommendations or training initiatives.
- Consult on compliance, terms, conditions of licensee agreements - guarantees, distribution channels and product categories.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need:
- BS/BA Degree in Marketing, Business, or other related field required
- MBA a plus
- 5-10 years of corporate business experience
- 2+ years of Marketing and/or Licensing experience - will also consider Finance and/or Sourcing experience.
