OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a Registered Senior Architect to lead projects in our Greenwood Village, Colorado Headquarters. Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship. We are seeking candidates who are eager for both personal and professional growth, possess a strong understanding of design and construction document processes, and can adapt to both short-term and long-term projects in a creative yet technically demanding environment.

This role requires a skilled professional architect responsible for all phases of architectural production and Building Information Modeling (BIM) for various Federal projects, from programming to construction administration.

Typical annual pay range for this position is $126,000.00 - $150,000.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide Architectural design for Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Energy (DOE) governmental Facilities.
  • Work in a design team environment, including directing and mentoring the work of junior architects and designers, and delegating work as required as well as provide management of the local team.
  • Interpret, organize, coordinate, and execute the design and production efforts for one or more large or complex projects.
  • Design tasks will include Conceptual Studies, Program Requirements, Design Analyses, Calculations, Specification writing, and Construction Document preparation and redlines.
  • Coordinate all support activities required to complete all design efforts and quality assurance processes.
  • Work with other disciplines to ensure accuracy of the package, schedule, and budget commitments.
  • Meet with clients to prepare and/or validate proposed scope of work.
  • Perform code reviews, redline projects, prepare fee proposals, and propose scope of work for architectural design work.
  • Create and manage schedule and budgets.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must understand the importance of Business Development and project management for E-A firms, must be able to manage projects and demonstrate skills in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Twelve (12) years of experience working as an Architect in a professional architecture / engineering environment managing projects.
  • Ten (10) years minimum as a Registered Architect.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture.
  • Experience in all phases of design, with track record of completed, successful projects.
  • Proficient working in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Client projects for this position:
    • Require sole U.S. Citizenship
    • Prohibit Dual Citizenship

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Military and Government project experience preferred.
  • Master's degree in architecture.
  • LEED Accredited Professional.
  • Local candidates preferred.
