The Opportunity:

The Assistant Director, Advancement Data Management plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the integrity of UCF's Advancement data systems. In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams and university partners to manage data enrichment processes, ensure data accuracy, and develop standards to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of Advancement data management efforts. Leading a team of Data Management Specialists, this position is vital to supporting UCF's mission through accurate and actionable data.

Responsibilities:

Data Enrichment:

  • Develop and manage procedures to gather and incorporate data from campus partners, such as board lists, scholarship recipients, and event attendees, to support future engagement and solicitation efforts.

Data Integrity & Hygiene:


  • Lead data cleanup projects to identify and correct inaccuracies, ensuring compliance with Advancement data standards.

  • Build queries, imports, and export processes to analyze and report on data quality metrics.

  • Collaborate with Gift Services on revenue-based cleanup initiatives.


Team Leadership:


  • Supervise and guide a team of Data Management Specialists.

  • Oversee workflow, provide training, and support professional development.

  • Act as the primary subject matter expert on constituent data and records management.


Process Improvements:

  • Partner with Operations colleagues to evaluate database features and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and data utilization across the division.

Policy Development:


  • Establish and document standards for data management.

  • Resolve issues related to data ambiguity and revise policies and procedures as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in a fundraising setting, preferably in a higher education environment.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and database management tools (e.g., Excel, Blackbaud CRM, Raiser's Edge NXT, or similar platforms).

  • Leadership experience, including supervising teams and managing workflows.

  • Strong project management skills, including experience with large-scale data cleanup projects.

  • Familiarity with data hygiene and enrichment processes in a higher education or nonprofit environment.

  • Experience in developing and documenting data management policies and procedures.


The most successful candidates may possess the following qualities:


  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.


Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated salary range for a well-qualified applicant is $56,030 - $68,637.

Advancement and Partnerships values the unique contributions that each team member brings to our division. The determination of a successful candidate's starting salary will vary based on several factors, including education and relevant experience. The anticipated pay scale indicated for this position generally applies to candidates who meet the minimum requirements and several of the preferred qualifications outlined above.
