Job Summary

The Customs Coordinator in an automotive company is responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations for the import and export of auto parts and materials. His/her role is key in optimizing costs, clearance times and regulatory compliance to ensure an efficient supply chain.

Responsabilities and main activities:

- Customs Management: Coordinate import and export operations in compliance with local and international customs regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with trade agreements (T-MEC, Mercosur, etc.), customs regulations, tariffs and foreign trade regulations.
- Logistics Coordination: Supervise the correct tariff classification of goods and manage the required documentation (pedimentos, certificates of origin, invoices, etc.).
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce customs costs and clearance times through strategies such as IMMEX programs, PROSEC, AEO, among others.
- Relationship with Authorities and Suppliers: Maintain communication with customs brokers and logistics suppliers to streamline operations.
- Audits and Reports: Prepare reports on costs, clearance times and compliance with regulations, in addition to coordinating internal and external audits.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to customs compliance, penalties or delays in the clearance of goods.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, International Business, Logistics, Customs or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in customs, import/export, or foreign trade in the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of trade agreements, customs regulations and foreign trade promotion programs.
- Knowledge of customs management software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Certifications such as AEO, CTPAT or courses in tariff classification are a plus.
- Technical knowledge: Command of customs and logistics regulations in the automotive sector.
