Accounting Manager (CPA Required) - Jacksonville, FL

Vaco is seeking an Accounting Manager (CPA required) for a direct hire opportunity with a stable organization located near downtown Jacksonville, Florida. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team with realistic career growth potential!

Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in the accounting team by ensuring that ownership, management, and stakeholders receive accurate, timely financial data and insights. This position requires expertise in cost accounting and lotted inventory management, which are critical to the role.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare consolidated monthly financial statements for all business units and entities.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to ownership, management, and external parties.
  • Process elimination and consolidation entries.
  • Post reversing, adjusting, and accrual journal entries.
  • Maintain reconciliations for balance sheet and P&L accounts.
  • Document and maintain supporting schedules and explanations of financial results.
  • Update the fixed asset system and calculate depreciation, gains, and losses.
  • Update the chart of accounts and create new business units/entities as needed.
  • Review and approve expenditure and revenue classifications.
  • Prepare cost accounting, ratio analysis, trend analysis, and variance reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with personnel across departments.
  • Organize and maintain a user-friendly library of accounting reports and records.
  • Manage allocations to various P&L units/entities.
  • Conduct internal audits of processes, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Prepare and verify compliance reports for governmental, banking, and other entities.
  • Lead special projects such as ERP upgrades, budget implementations, and extraordinary transactions.
  • Support annual and external audits by providing requested information and addressing inquiries.
  • Assist with payroll, accounts payable, credit/accounts receivable, internal audit, ERP management, and other related duties as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: 2-6 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Certifications: CPA or CMA designation (or active candidacy) is required.
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of cost accounting and lotted inventory management.
  • Proficient in preparing financial statements, analysis, and financial metrics.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and external data links.
  • Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite ERP and Power BI is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, mathematical, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Managerial experience is a plus.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco notes the salary range for the role as follows: 75,000-90,000. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
