Summary
Shift: 3rd shift 6:00 p.m.-6:30 a.m. (12 hour shifts) Candidate will be required to operate and maintain industrial refrigeration equipment, computer control operations, electrical motor control maintenance, service and repair of industrial refrigeration equipment, and documentation of operating procedures. Candidate will also be required to operate and maintain the boiler, RO, fire sprinkler, air compressor and waste water systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily observations of the ammonia and boiler systems to prevent incidents.
- Maintain a log book to record operating conditions and to detect deviations from normal.
- Change compressor oil, separators, filters.
- Clean evaporative condensers as scheduled.
- Oversee unloading of bulk ammonia into the system.
- Maintain a clean and orderly Engine Room and work environment.
- Understand and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Source vendors for technical assistance and engineering data concerning the proper operation of the ammonia system.
- Monitor new installations and equipment suppliers from a technical aspect concerning proper operations of the ammonia system.
- Participate on the Emergency Response Team.
- Understanding and manage a PSM Program.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and achieve objectives.
- Must be able to work OT based on company demands

Qualifications and Skills

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Candidate must have a minimum 1-3 years related experience or training of industrial refrigeration experience.
- Basic understanding of steam boiler operation required.
- Experience with a computer controlled Engine Room and System.
- Working experience of RETA knowledge preferred.
- Minimum 24 Hour Hazmat training preferred.
- Experience in an industrial maintenance department preferred.
SKILLS
- Respirator training.
- Working knowledge of computer systems.
- Must be computer literate, prefer experience in Microsoft Office
- Understanding of general industrial process and control systems.
- Thorough knowledge in the areas of compressor installation fundamentals, compressor alignment, compressor service and maintenance, screw compressors, evaporative condensers, unwanted liquid slop, and troubleshooting
- Good working knowledge of a preventive maintenance program for ammonia systems.
- Understand liquid feed to evaporators and vessels, direct expansion evaporators, gravity flooded evaporators, pumped liquid recirculation systems, heat exchangers and pressure enthalpy diagrams, two-stage systems and defrost systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and achieve objectives.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, P& ID's
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as add, subtract, divide, multiply, figure proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.-No
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
