Responsibilities

As a Journeyman Marine Engineer, you will have the opportunity to do the following:

Assist Senior Mechanical Engineers in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment.

Support the US Coast Guard by reviewing third party design modifications.
Help with performing design reviews, evaluating constructability.
Help resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phase.
Conduct marine engineering analysis.
Create graphical representations of structures and systems.
Inspect ship equipment or systems.
Research advanced engineering designs or applications.
Help prepare technical reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or a current Professional Engineer (PE) license.
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree or a PE license, a High School Diploma/GED/equivalent plus an additional seven (7) years of experience, in addition to other experience requirements, may be substituted.
Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
At least 3 years of experience in Auto-CAD (or similar CAD programs) and Microsoft Suite
At least 1 year of experience in Propulsion systems; Auxiliary Systems; Fluids and Hydraulics systems; or Ship Support Systems.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $66,100.00/Yr. - USD $139,300.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
