Job # MA25013 Job Title Strategic Projects Director Office Location Roanoke, VA Business Unit/Department Energy & Infrastructure Solutions Sales Territory, if applicable N/A General Role Description Define, develop, and manage strategic business projects to ensure achievement of the business unit's (BU) Mid-Range Plan (MRP) commitments (1-3 years) and the long-term (3-5 years) strategy. Role Accountabilities - Identify, evaluate, propose, and execute strategic projects that align with the business plan, based on thorough understanding of the business strategy, priorities, and financial targets, in collaboration with BU leadership - Design and staff an organizational structure that can effectively ensure successful execution of strategic business projects - Direct the design and implementation of business process improvement solutions that result in greater strategic value for the business - Prepare elements of the BU's MRP, in collaboration with other BU management, as requested - Develop, manage, and continuously improve the system by which the BU's commercial, operations, and manufacturing activities are effectively and efficiently integrated - Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets to meet business targets and ensure variances are identified, analyzed, and reconciled - Coordinate and influence within the entire organization to secure resources and solutions to ensure projects are executed successfully - Ensure effective risk management and communication, in compliance with parent company policies and contractual terms and conditions, to protect the organization from liability - Provide BU and Company management with timely updates on plans and results, as scheduled and requested - Ensure key information about project performance is acquired and monitored, in coordination with other BU management - Develop effective and collaborative relationships with internal and external clients and suppliers, domestically and internationally, to secure resources and deliver effective solutions which achieve business goals General Employee Accountabilities -Bring full effort to bear on tasks assigned by manager -Give manager best advice -Give earliest notice when work cannot be delivered as specified -Cooperate and collaborate with peers and interact cross-organizationally as specified by manager -Comply with all Company policies, practices, and procedures and all regulations and laws -Formulate recommendations for improvement proactively -Ensure effective utilization of business tools and processes Manager Accountabilities -Build and lead a team of committed and capable employees -Plan for, appropriately assign, resource, and integrate the work of the team -Lead, expect, and implement continuous improvement -Own the output of the team -Exercise effective managerial leadership to include -Two-way managerial team working -Fair and just treatment of direct reports -Context setting -Planning -Task assignment -Ongoing performance management -Coaching -Selection and orientation -De-selection and dismissal Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in project management, construction management, business administration, finance, computer science, engineering, or engineering technology or related field, or equivalent via education and/or work experience - 5 years of project or program management experience - Demonstrated use of keen business acumen to develop effective strategies and determine appropriate priorities for improved business results - Proven ability to deal with new and complex topics, interpret data, spot trends, draw conclusions and make recommendations - Proven ability to work effectively, influence without authority, and achieve business goals collaboratively across all functions and levels of an organization - Demonstrated ability to balance strategic direction with hands-on, tactical work - Demonstrated success leading teams to accomplish business goals - Demonstrated experience with senior leadership and ability to deliver executive-level summary updates, reports and presentations - Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility - Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills - Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts - Proficiency in MS Office, a CRM tool, and an ERP business system - Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, approximately 25%, sometimes with limited notice Preferred Qualifications - MBA - 7 years' experience in management system implementation: business analysis, process improvement principles application, policy and procedure development, facilitation of teams - Previous accountability for development of successful business plans - Strong background in business process transformation and innovation within a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment - PMI PMP Certification Link to TMEIC Corporation Americas website: https://www.tmeic.com/.
