Overview

Waters Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and customer-centric Principal Product Manager to lead the product strategy and execution for our on-line UPLC/LC capabilities within the Process Analytics portfolio of Bio Business Unit. This critical role will drive revenue growth, define the product roadmap, and collaborate cross-functionally to bring innovative solutions to the market. The ideal candidate possesses a strong blend of technical acumen, business savvy, and a passion for understanding and addressing customer needs in the biopharmaceutical and related industries. This is a global role that requires up to 30% domestic and international travel.



Responsibilities

    Strategic Product Leadership: Define and champion the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for on-line UPLC/LC capabilities, aligning with the overall Process Analytics portfolio and Waters' strategic objectives.
  • Market Analysis & Customer Insights: Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and Voice of the Customer (VOC) activities to identify unmet needs, emerging trends, and opportunities for innovation. Develop detailed user personas and value propositions.
  • Product Development & Commercialization: Lead the full product lifecycle from ideation and requirements gathering through development, launch, and post-market management. Collaborate with R&D, engineering, marketing, and sales teams to ensure successful product launches and adoption.
  • Revenue Growth & Market Share: Drive revenue growth and expand market share for on-line UPLC/LC products. Develop pricing strategies, sales enablement materials, and promotional programs.
  • Partnership Development: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with external technology providers to enhance our integrated workflow solutions and improve the customer experience.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effectively influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, sales, operations, and quality, to achieve product goals.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the existing product portfolio, including sustaining activities, product enhancements, and end-of-life planning. Address custom product requests and collaborate with global quality and technical support.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Monitor and analyze competitive landscape, develop competitive positioning and messaging, and proactively identify potential threats and opportunities.
  • Sales Enablement: Develop and deliver training programs and sales tools to equip the sales team with the knowledge and resources needed to effectively sell on-line UPLC/LC solutions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Engineering) or Business-related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in product management, product marketing, or a related customer-facing role within the life sciences or analytical instrumentation industry.
  • Deep understanding of chromatography, UPLC/LC technologies, and process analytical technologies (PAT) is essential.
  • Experience with on-line process monitoring and control systems is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing products in a B2B environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.
