Introduction
MWRD's Internship Program offers paid internship positions. While the main focus is on wastewater management, there are opportunities to gain knowledge and practical experience in a wide range of functions in each department. Paid Interns Paid interns are limited to 119 working days per calendar year and receive $18.00 per hour. Required Documents:

Minimum Requirements Position Title: Aquatic Ecology Intern Department: Monitoring and Research Department Location: Stickney Water Reclamation Plant 6001 West Pershing Road Cicero, IL 60804 Description: The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is seeking an intern in the Monitoring and Research Department.This internship is focused on water quality monitoring. The intern will work alongside staff and assist with collecting environmental samples, including water, sediment, and fish. The intern will also assist with the preparation and maintenance of monitoring equipment including sample gear, handheld meters, and water quality sondes. The intern will gain knowledge and skills on proper sampling and processing techniques and the identification of fish species for evaluating fish populations and diversity in the Chicago area waterways. The intern will also gain knowledge on the types of equipment used for monitoring the water quality of surface waters. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
