Farm Credit of Southern Colorado (FCSC) is seeking a Credit Analyst II to join our team.

This position is full time, working approximately 40 hours a week, and is benefits eligible. Occasional travel may be required to sufficiently support other locations within territory.

Position Summary:

The Credit Analyst II is responsible for working on credits of all size and complexity, recommending or approving loans within delegated credit authority, evaluating financial statements and interpreting and applying Association credit standards. This includes credit analysis, drafting loan narratives, and credit administration. Essential responsibilities of this role include entering data of borrower provided information into the system, verifying completeness and accuracy of loan packages, cash flow analysis, as well as analysis of balance sheets, income statements and earned net worth trends. The Credit Analyst will also prepare loan narratives to support approval, denial or counterproposal of credit requests. The chosen candidate will also Coach and provide guidance to branch and credit staff on credit standards and information gathering techniques.

Responsibilities:

Credit Analysis



  • Enters data of borrower provided information into loan system
  • Verifies completeness and accuracy of loan package and financial information presented by borrowers
  • Completes actual historical cash flow analysis from the borrower FCSC Ledger account
  • Analyzes balance sheet
  • Analyzes earned net worth analysis
  • Analyzes income statement & creates projections for an ongoing operation
  • Identifies risk rating
  • Identifies collateral position and risk
  • Reviews policy and procedures, aligning credit package within Association standards


Loan Narrative



  • Prepares loan narrative to support approval, denial, or counterproposal of credit requests
  • Confirms required information is included in narrative
  • Includes exceptions to procedure that are being granted in the loan request
  • Updates narrative based on feedback


Credit Administration



  • Shares opinions and participates in credit discussions with credit team members
  • Participates in credit meeting
  • Reviews staging of loan system and completes the analysis section, supporting the database administration
  • Responds to Audit questions as needed
  • Reviews policy and procedures
  • Compiles credit documents
  • Prepares credit packages on credit sold or that require approval by the funding bank
  • Prepares packages for Loan Committee
  • Uploads the supporting credit decision documents into loan system


Data Security, Confidentiality & Trainings



  • Appropriately protects the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association, employees, borrowers, and other stakeholders



Minimum Qualifying Characteristics:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, agricultural business, business administration, finance, mathematics or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in credit analysis or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Working knowledge of financial statements
  • Working knowledge of credit analysis and regulatory requirements with respect to borrower's rights
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, practices and methods
  • Working knowledge of financial structuring and loan products
  • Working knowledge of agricultural operations
  • Working knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook sufficient to create, update and save a variety of documents
  • Skill in oral and written communication, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers, supervisor and borrowers
  • Skill in differentiating significant and insignificant details

Salary Range: $58,000 - $75,000.

This range is a good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of this posting. Actual salaries could vary and may be above or below the range as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2. Variation is based on various factors including but not limited to location, qualifications, experience, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, a potential new employee's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions. In addition, benefits for this position include medical, dental, vision and life insurance, 401k, tax advantage accounts, paid vacation, sick leave and parental leave. An annual incentive may also be earned based on organizational and personal performance.
