OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is looking for an experienced Sr. Electrical I&C Engineer to join our Nuclear Services & Technology Team. This will be a remote position.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for electrical and I&C design, be able and willing to perform CAD as well as engineering, be nimble in accepting a wide range of assignments both nuclear and non-nuclear and enjoy a team design environment. Other projects may include industrial power generation, particularly within generation facilities such as coal, combined cycle and simple cycle gas turbines, hydroelectric, wind and solar generation.

Typical annual pay range for this position is $126,000.00 - $160,000.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Engineer will design projects and may lead other Electrical and I&C Engineers and designers on project tasks. Work involves a variety of activities including conceptual and detailed design of electronic equipment and systems. Work involves a variety of activities including conceptual and detailed design of low voltage and medium voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, motor control systems, process equipment and instrumentation.

  • Attend client meetings and making presentations to clients.
  • Perform Code Reviews and redline project drawings.
  • Provide technical guidance and review of construction documents.
  • Communicate design changes to clients and other disciplines.
  • Perform project quality assurance/quality control, including independent technical reviews and interdisciplinary coordination reviews.
  • Develop electrical and instrumentation and controls basis of design and scope of work documents.
  • Develop equipment specifications for electrical equipment, including power transformers, switchgear, MCC's, motor specs, and other auxiliary electrical equipment.
  • Develop specifications for I&C equipment including DCS, PLCs, Continuous Emission Monitoring System and instrument datasheets
  • Develop electrical and I&C wiring drawings, cabinet layouts and network diagrams.
  • Ensure technical accuracy and conformance to project design criteria of engineered work products.
  • Ensure appropriate procedures, design guidelines, and design tools are utilized on projects.
  • Perform non-routine assignments with little or no direction.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of progressive experience in Electrical I&C Engineering design.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Proficient knowledge of electrical distribution systems at various voltages (120 VAC, 480VAC, 4160VAC, and 13KV).
  • Experience with power analysis design software (ETAP, or SKM Power Tools).
  • Piping & Instrumentation (P&ID) interpretation.
  • Capable with Instrumentation selection and datasheet preparation.
  • Proficient at Control System Design (PLC, DCS).
  • Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.
