The Clinical Research Assistant will coordinate several projects involving outcomes of adults with congenital heart disease. This will include established research protocols, such as coordination of a large international database of over 1800 patients with tetralogy of Fallot, known as INDICATOR. This position involves routinely updating the database, and the coordinator will be taught how to analyze imaging data associated with these studies. The Clinical Research assistant will also be responsible for development and execution of new protocols. Primary responsibilities include weekly meetings with the primary investigator, data collection through medical record review, contributing data to the existing database, submission of new research protocols to the scientific review committee and IRB, literature reviews, preparing presentations, grant writing and coordination of team meetings (including agenda creation and summary documents). There will be opportunities for the Research assistant to be included in authorship of manuscripts, observation of clinical activities and inclusion in team learning conferences. This is a two-year position with the goal to provide the research assistant with the skills and experience to further their career in medicine.
