Job Summary

The Materials Quality Engineering (MQE) Manager is a leadership role supporting our Advanced Purity Solutions (APS) US manufacturing and procurement organization. The role requires a commitment to excellence and a desire to develop a world class Materials Quality organization. Your primary responsibility will be leading a technical team that proactively manages and delivers consistent raw materials to our manufacturing operations. You and your team will assess and manage supplier risk, performance, and improvement. You will implement effective supplier corrective actions, assess proposed supply changes, and drive continuous quality improvements to ensure a robust raw material supply chain for Entegris and our end-use customers.

You must be able to work with significant autonomy and independent judgement to achieve Global Materials Quality goals and Entegris corporate goals. You will have the interpersonal skills to develop strong working relationships with both our critical/strategic suppliers and internal customers in collaboration with Procurement, Operations, R&D and Customer Quality.

Reports to: Senior Manager, Global APS MQE

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead US APS Materials Quality Engineering team. Provide technical direction, monitor, and coach team members.

  • Responsible for meeting established goals and metrics set by the Divisional Materials Quality Manager.

  • Own supplier technical interactions and raw material performance.

  • Train suppliers on key expectations and requirements.

  • Drive improvement activities including SPC trend review, SCAR 8D, supplier assessment/audit, scorecards, continuous improvement actions, and six sigma projects.

  • Lead the team to evaluate technical risk of supplier notified changes and execute implementation.

  • Understand the supplier's processes and the impact on Entegris products and customers' application.

  • Provide strategic technical solutions to close material performance gaps and improve supply chain value for Entegris.

  • Proactively assess and plan risk mitigation (business continuity planning) with procurement.

  • Support new product development (NPD) by evaluating new materials and working closely with the business unit.

  • Champion and support all corporate EH&S and Quality initiatives.

  • Build effective working relationships across the division and company.

Qualifications:

  • Education - Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science and Engineering. Masters preferred, PhD and/or MBA a plus.

  • Experience - Minimum 8-10 years' experience work experience in chemical or materials production environment with core competency in: research and development, supply chain management, manufacturing, quality, and/or production management. Six sigma knowledge required. Proven work experience as a team leader preferred. Experience within semiconductor industry and ASQ certification or equivalent a plus.

The key competencies required of the Materials Quality Engineering Team Leader are:

  • Business acumen; ability to identify and understand the relevant business drivers and translate them in actionable operational activities.

  • Talent Development; ability to discover training needs and provide coaching, listen to team members' feedback and resolve issues and conflicts, encourage creativity and create an inspiring team environment with open communication.

  • Analytical; skill in applying statistics to seize opportunities, including SPC/SQC, Six Sigma, Measurement System Analysis, Analytical Methods and Metrology.

  • Leadership; capability to build relationships, lead and motivate teams and drive activity through a balance of influence and inspiration

  • Communications; skill in concise and clear verbal and written communications and experience with front line supplier and customer interactions

  • Systems Thinking; experience with implementing Quality Management Systems to support business growth

  • Knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes and supplier and customer interactions.
