Duties and Responsibilities
Summary:

Human Resources (HR) seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Generalist to provide direct Administrative support to a Senior HR leader while also assisting the HR Team on various initiatives. The role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented Professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is comfortable handling strategic and operational HR duties.

Job Description:


Reporting directly to the Senior Human Resources (HR) Leader, the ideal Candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret HR metrics and data. This role will be responsible for developing presentations & reports, and ensuring complex information is presented clearly. Additionally, this role will support HR processes, projects, and initiatives that enhance efficiency and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide multi-faceted proactive administrative assistance to ensure effective use of time and productive interactions with Staff, Colleagues, and external Stakeholders.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings requiring detailed logistics handling and problem solving, coordinate meeting room logistics in-house and off-site, travel or other support, as needed.
  • Independently initiates and implements processes to manage projects and information.
  • Support the HR team with overflow of onboarding, offboarding, scheduling interviews, HR website support and special events. Assist in the preparation of New Hire documentation and maintaining accurate Staff records.
  • Coordinate with HR to collect data and metrics that provides insights to inform decision making and process improvements for key Performance Metrics such as Staff Turnover.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to streamline processes and enhance Department efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of trust and teamwork, ensuring communication remains professional and aligned with the values and mission of Loyola University Chicago.
  • Support and attend campus HR events, as needed.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement in handling confidential information and sensitive HR interactions, maintaining professionalism and fostering a respectful and trustworthy work environment.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to pick up new systems and software easily.
  • Other duties, as needed.


Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related area with some Human Resources experience preferred.
Qualifications
Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of applicable Administrative and/or HR-related experience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional presentations and reports.
  • Strong initiative and willingness to take on new challenges with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Promotes a culture of trust and teamwork, ensuring that communication remains professional and aligned with the values and mission of Loyola University Chicago.


*This role requires a strong, consistent presence in the office to effectively collaborate with Team members, support HR initiatives, and engage with employees across the organization.
