Position Overview:The PDC Electronic Technician will perform tasks associated with providing electronic component technical support in the Product Distribution Center. Responsibilities:
  • Be liaison between Receiving, Technical department and Records Maintenance to resolve receiving issues with new product and existing inventory to ensure flags/notes are entered to address special handling or shipping requirements

  • Answer questions and provide product technical expertise as it affects the order fulfillment process

  • Analyze product to determine if defective or damaged and notify quality department as necessary about product storage issues associated with findings

  • Assist in resolving packaging, shipping and storage issues associated with technically specialized product by working with Product Managers. Help to identify handling and packaging procedures that are detrimental to product viability, and verify|confirm part notes and shipping notes meet requirements for specialized product

  • Review custom cable and battery assembly specifications from customers and ensure a quality product is assembled

  • Coordinate and manage the PDC calibration program and oversee the battery cable room machine calibration inspection requirements

  • Provide technical expertise on ESD related issues and oversee MSL restock processes associated with part baking

  • Resolve non-conforming product issues relating to the technical aspects of the parts

  • Provide product training for PDC representatives

  • Repair, Monitor and request maintenance of existing machines for, cable assembly, battery assembly, programming, scales, carrier tape machines, reel counters, DKR presses and other calibrated equipment as appropriate

  • Make recommendations on machinery that would increase efficiency in product packaging and handling

  • Work with Customer Returns and other departments to resolve technical issues relating to customer returns efficiently to shorten the response time to the customer

  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage/perform multiple tasks in a timely manner

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge base of processes/procedures required for ESD and MSL compliancy

  • Decision making and problem solving ability

  • PC skills with the ability to establish and maintain data/records and produce reports

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as be a team player

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology (or similar area of study)

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk or stand the entire scheduled shift

  • Ability to perform repetitive, hand, wrist and arm motion

  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for a minimum of two hours at a time before taking breaks or lunches

Compensation:

The starting base pay rate for this position is:

$24.40
