What you'll do
We are seeking a highly experienced Government Procurement Compliance Director to ensure procurement/ subcontracts, small business and government property compliance with government contracts and Federal regulations, including compliance to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government procurement, contract management, and property management, with a proven ability to drive the compliance of large-scale, complex government procurement operations. Candidate must be detail oriented, able to find solutions that meet both the business and contractual requirements and successfully work in a highly collaborative setting.
The day-to-day
Key Responsibilities:
- Systems Compliance to FAR/DFARs- Directly responsible for maintaining compliance of Viasat's Purchasing System, Small Business Subcontracting Program and Government Property Administration. This includes overseeing Viasat's adherence to FAR, DFARS, and other regulations related to government contracting, ensuring Viasat is in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Audit and Monitoring: Manage internal and external audits (Contractor Purchasing System Review, Small Business, Government Property) ensuring internal processes and work product meet contractual requirements and are in compliance with the government regulations, including the FAR/DFARs. Provide required reports and documentation for compliance purposes.
- Process Management: Ensure Viasat's internal processes are in compliance with government contracts, federal regulations (including the FAR/DFARs), and are maintained/current to the latest regulations.
- Procurement/ Subcontracts Guidance: Collaborate with supply chain leadership on administration of government procurements/ subcontracts, ensuring compliance with federal acquisition guidelines and government contract requirements.
- Government Property Management: Ensure proper management of government property (furnished and procured) in accordance with FAR/DFARS requirements, including maintaining accurate records and conducting regular inventory assessments.
- Small Business Compliance: Aid and promote small business subcontracting plans, ensuring compliance with proposal and contractual requirements, FAR/DFARs and other small business requirements.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate procurement and subcontracts compliance risks, providing recommendations for managing complex procurements and subcontracts.
- Team Leadership: Foster a high-performance culture and provide guidance on complex contracting and procurement matters.
- Training and Development: Develop training materials and conduct internal workshops to educate staff on federal procurement regulations and best practices. Ensure training is in compliance with the FAR/DFARs and Viasat's internal processes.
- Stakeholder Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate with all teams supporting compliance matters under your responsibility including supply chain, finance, proposal teams, contracts, legal, etc to ensure smooth operations. Closely partner with Procurement/Subcontracts leadership at all locations to ensure alignment and compliance.
- Efficient Execution: Seek efficiency and process improvements wherever possible to ensure lowest overhead cost, ease of compliance processes/automation and quick speed to market, while maintaining risk.
What you'll need
- 15+ years' experience in government procurement/subcontracts
- 5+ years' experience in leadership role overseeing FAR/DFAR procurements
- Proven knowledge of FAR, DFARS and other federal procurement regulations
- Demonstrated experience with government property management and small business requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or related field
- US Government position. US Citizenship required
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain when administratively feasible
- Ability to travel up to 10%

Salary range
$188,000.00 - $260,500.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $227,000.00- $307,000.00/ annually
