Overview
Utah State University Extension's Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is seeking a qualified individual as a Staff Assistant.

The EFNEP Staff Assistant II provides clerical support for Salt Lake, Davis, Weber and Utah County units of the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). The successful applicant will be housed in the Davis County Extension Office in Kaysville.

As part of the selection process, candidates may be asked to participate in a computer skills assessment.

This position is eligible for hybrid work within the state of Utah.

Responsibilities
  • Performing data entry for all aspects of the federal web-based EFNEP Nutrition Education Evaluation and Reporting System (WebNEERS).
  • Create and post content on all EFNEP social media platforms
  • Collect monthly reports from EFNEP staff and review for accuracy.
  • Coordinate and contribute to program recruitment efforts.
  • Maintain office files and equipment in all EFNEP county locations.
  • Clerical support - assist EFNEP staff, distribute supplies, and respond to office visits and telephone calls.
  • Prepare documents using word processing or spreadsheet software to organize and track data for EFNEP projects.
  • Compile statistics for EFNEP WebNEERS annual report, monthly reports, and other reports as requested by supervisor.
  • Secretarial office duties and other assignments as requested by supervisors.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Two years of full-time office related experience or Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with office equipment such as phone systems, fax and copy machines.
  • Must be able to maintain cultural sensitivity in interacting with staff.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Second language helpful, Spanish preferred.
  • Familiar with USU Policies and Procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to learn web-based EFNEP Nutrition Education Evaluation and Reporting System (WebNEERS).
  • Skilled in website management, content creation, digital media marketing, etc.
  • Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, sensitivity and discretion.
  • Strong computer and technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and other computer programs.
  • Knowledge and experience with email, internet usage, and graphic applications.
  • Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to take direction and complete assigned projects/responsibilities in the time allotted.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in written and oral communication.
