Schmidt Construction Company part of the Levy Group of Companies is seeking an Asphalt Laborer to work at our Colorado Springs, CO location. The Asphalt Laborer operates a jackhammer, shovel asphalt and performs laborer duties behind an asphalt paver. Pay: $20-24 Shift/Schedule: Full Time Day Job w/ Nights and Weekends as needed Benefits Competitive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Prescription, 401(K) with 3% Employer Contribution, Long- and Short-term Disability Tuition Reimbursement for qualified skilled trade programs Employee Referral Program Responsibilities The Laborer will: Prep grade for paving crew (i.e., run jack hammer, clean pavement, or check grade) Shovel asphalt for patching and or paving crew Communicate with office and field personnel Inspect grade and elevations correctly Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor Roll asphalt mat once it is laid and ensure that no marks or creases will be left in pavement Aid in cleaning up the site and removing any unneeded items Skills The ideal candidate will have: Basic mechanical skills Ability to sit, stand or walk for an extended period Work outside for an extended period Ability to communicate well with co-workers, customers, and other departments Ability to read and write English Valid driver's license Physical Requirements Lifts up to fifty (50) pounds Sits, stands, and walks for extended periods of time Occasional pushing, pulling and/or prying Good visual acuity, depth perception and eye-hand coordination Able to detect differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness Operates motor vehicle Works in environment with noise and temperature variations To Apply Please submit your resume.
