The Role: Our site in Aurora, Illinois is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our chemical Slurries manufacturing team. The Operations Supervisor position is responsible and accountable for achieving departmental production requirements by focusing on safety, quality, and cost, through supervision of the first shift chemical operations associates and through the coordination of scheduling and workflow. This position will provide staff training, guidance, and motivation, while ensuring that work instructions are maintained and are followed. Helping to instill a culture where teamwork, innovation, and accountability are of the highest importance. Works closely with the engineering and supporting functions to ensure seamless communication across the production shifts. What You'll Do:
- Ensures safe work practices and works with EHS to train and elevate culture of safety within the team.
- Monitors workarea and employees' performance for adherence to safety procedures, work restrictions, cleanliness expectations andall potential hazards.
- Create and maintain a positive work environment by training & developing employees, maintaining open & appropriate interactions with staff, and answering questions that are asked.
- Addresses issues with staff in a fair and consistent manner, with supportivedocumentation and timely feedback and corrective actions.
- Adheres to Company policies, procedures, and applicable budget requirements.
- Communicates effectively to the team regarding goals and expectations and confidently interacts with all employees and leaders of the organization.
- Ensures expected output of quality products is achieved.
- Assists in investigating and evaluating quality defects asassigned and in determining appropriate actions to be taken.
- Assists with recommending and implementing of solutions to improve quality of products.
- Gives suggestions in writing document change orders and manufacturing instructions.
- Assists in identifying and recommending procedures for scrap reduction.
- Promotes the use of Lean / Sigma Manufacturing concepts including SPC, Kanban materials management and 6s
- Uses PDCA, visual management, meeting customer demands through schedule attainment, and daily improvements tomonitor and adjust production requirements and resources to ensure on time shipment.
- Monitors production hour by hour performance and escalates issues.
- Implements and monitors continuous quality improvement activities including waste and cost reduction, equipment,and tool efficiencies.
- Provides daily work direction to team members and acts as first point of contact regarding any issues that may arise on shift, including but not limited to, safety incident, quality, personnel, etc.
- Stretch outside of comfort zone - effectively adapting to new assignments, managers, business challenges.
What We Seek:
- Minimum of 6 years manufacturing experience with 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Functional understanding of chemical batch processing including blending, filling and packaging
- Drives employee development, accountability, and engagement
- Willingness to work during off-shift as business requires
- Knowledge of inventory management processes
- Ability and willingness to enforce all safety protocols
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite

- Must be able to read and write in the English language
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in chemical batch processing and 2 years of direct supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- An ability to effectively communicate across all shifts and interact with Engineering, Maintenance, Warehouse, Management and Administrative staff as needed.
- Willingness, flexibility, and commitment required to succeed in a high demand, broad responsibility, team environment.
- Computer Skills: Ability to use various computer applications including ERP (preferably SAP) and experience using PLCs, HMIs and similar control systems to load recipes/programs and perform process monitoring.
- MS Excel Skills: Ability to enter data into cells, read and create charts and graphs, and generate formulas to analyze data and maintain metrics.

- Compensation: $74,000 - $111,000 Yearly Salary range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
