REPORTS TO: Guest & Event Services Manager - EHC

STATUS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

JOB CLASSIFICATION: Associate I

WORK ARRANGEMENT: 100% Onsite, (Napa) 5 Days/Week

LOCATION: Napa, CA

SALARY RANGE: $26.52-$30.93/hr

OVERVIEW

LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired, headquartered in Napa, is looking for a full time Driver and Support Associate to primarily support our Napa camp, and other Bay Area based offices (as needed) and to fill a valued role in our growing organization.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current State of California Class B license with Passenger Endorsements, REQUIRED.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a commercial driver.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver's license.
  • Must demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
  • Professional appearance, work ethic, and demeanor.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-departmentally.
  • Experience working with the disability community preferred.
  • Technologically savvy and able to learn new work order system.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work on-call when needed.
  • Any experience in an event support position is a plus.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drives shuttle, van, or car up and down the scenic drive of Mt. Veeder to and from Enchanted Hills Napa camp and retreat site.
  • Provides transportation throughout the property using various company vehicles.
  • Provides rides to/from other locations in the Napa Valley and Greater Bay Area for staff and guests when needed for special events.
  • Assist passengers in and out of the vehicle as required, including loading/unloading and safely stowing packages and luggage.
  • Assist with loading and unloading wheelchair users in and out of vehicles.
  • Maintains vehicle cleanliness and fuel level and reports any necessary vehicle maintenance and repairs through established channels.
  • Assists in smooth operation of the Property Management department by using company vehicle to help with various tasks that require driving offsite, as requested by management.
  • Properly logging departure and return of assigned trips


*Other duties including guest services support, as assigned by manager


EXPECTATIONS FOR SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE:

  • Follows all federal, state and local driving rules and regulations and immediately reports any incidents, traffic tickets, or infractions to management.
  • Non-Driving tasks consist of assisting with other team members to ensure spaces are properly set up for activities and events, helping with luggage and transporting items throughout the site when requested.
  • Supports Events and Guest Services as a point of contact for guests and visitors, anticipating needs and solving problems with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism.
  • Performs various other tasks as assigned.
  • Flexibility in this role is vital.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Ability to drive for long periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to manipulate equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to work with exposure to environmental conditions.
  • Willingness to work weekends when needed.
