The Central Plant Operator installs, maintains, and repairs electrical and mechanical infrastructure in facilities. Working under moderate supervision, this role operates the plant to optimize efficiency and minimize costs while eliminating risk. The schedule for this role is 7pm - 7am weekdays with weekend rotation (40 hours a week).
  • Develops and maintains a preventative maintenance program for plant equipment in order to minimize operational disruptions and detect malfunctions.
  • Documents Environmental Protection Agency required forms in order to verify operating conditions.
  • Adjusts operating systems such as firing controls and fuel feeds to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges.
  • Installs and repairs valves, piping, and fittings for the successful operation of heating boilers and chillers.
  • Records equipment related data, including temperature of equipment and hours of operations to provide an accurate work log.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 4 years of experience.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Environmental Protection Agency 608 Universal Certification
Valid Driver's License (if driving a Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must be approved by Risk Management)
