ATI Millersburg is seeking a Production Controller to join our team. This position is part of the Specialty Alloys and Components business unit and reports to the Director of Supply Chain. This is an onsite, day shift position. The Production Controller is responsible for ensuring the flow of material to and through assigned Area Business Teams (ABT). This role ensures alignment between manufacturing plans and shipment plans, while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities



  • Creating and updating production schedules based on changes in operations execution to meet customer demands.


  • Responsible for maintaining batch step dates and scheduled ship dates by SRN (shipment reschedule notification) as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all necessary materials and resources are planned appropriately based on capacity.


    • Works closely with Area Business Coordinator (ABC) to set the production plan based on customer requirements, and reschedules material flow based on feedback from the ABC. Sets inventory targets and develop specific inventory action plans with ABC to reach targets. Manage performance standards and analysis methods to compare actual production performance against the established standards (Production to Plan, PTP).
    • Works closely with the Planning Managers to ensure proper order management (new orders, late line recovery, quality issues requiring replanning, and changes in operations capability) and demand does not exceed capacity.
    • Works closely with the Sales Team as the integral communication point between operations and our customers. Weekly connections to review changes in production and dates required. Ensures new orders are not placed within lead times or above capacity of resources in the flow path.
    • Works closely with the S&OP Leader and Planning Managers, translating requirements into a operations production plan.


  • Identifying potential bottlenecks, delays, or issues in the production process and implementing corrective actions to minimize disruptions.
  • Coordinates the production planning with maintenance planning and scheduling needs.
  • Managing inventory levels to ensure intermediate materials are available when needed without overstocking or causing excess inventory costs.
  • Coordinating with the procurement team to reorder supplies as necessary.
  • Reschedules batches based on non-conforming, quality defected material. Attendance of the quality DMB is critical to ensure proper communication.
  • Preparing and presenting regular reports on demand vs. capacity analysis, on time delivery, and inventory - throughout the S&OP process.
  • Participating in or leading initiatives to improve production planning processes, such as improving standard work process, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma projects.
  • Coordinate secondary processing of finished product (e.g., rework and repackaging).


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Civil Engineering, Materials Science or other relevant field required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience. Internship experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) Security Clearance.
  • Must be able and willing to obtain ASCM CPIM certification within first 12 months in the role.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in production planning and/or control areas with a solid understanding of manufacturing procedures is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in OBI, PowerBI, OPM.

Salary Range: $63,000 to $82,000/annually +
