Analytics Intern

What you will be doing:

Summer Analyst works collaboratively within a team of highly qualified analysts to leverage technology and standardized approaches to enable members to realize the full value of Premier's offerings. This position will be responsible for creating and supporting financial spend analysis, conducting supply chain operations analysis, conducting research, collecting and analyzing data, and advising on next steps or changes based on interpreting results. Additionally, the Summer Analyst will work collaboratively and independently on internal growth projects. The role of the Summer Analyst is to actively participate within the Member Value Enablement team to determine our member's needs, analyze and interpret data, evaluate potential solutions, develop presentation materials, and assist in the implementation of recommended improvements, while balancing internal project needs.

Key Responsibilities

#1 - 50%

  • Create and interpret spreadsheets, presentations and other deliverables using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio and Project as necessary for client engagement.

  • Use expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel (Pivot Tables and Vlookups), PowerPoint, Access, project management software (e.g., MS Project) and flowcharting software (e.g., Visio) to create client deliverables accurately, with attention to detail, and on time.

  • Perform analysis of medical surgical productsto identify savings opportunities or perform analysis of supply chain operations activities and data to identify operational enhancements, transformation, and savings.

  • Responsible for client and internal presentation creation and development of quality deliverables.

  • Participate in identifying business and technical problems and work with team to create innovative solutions.

  • Responsible for conducting research, analyzing data, and using results to drive recommendations.

  • Participate in assessment, design, and implementation activities, which may involve client meetings, observations, data collection and analysis and operational tactical work.

  • Use knowledge of supply chain, finance, healthcare, or consulting operations background to assist clients in achieving maximum savings and efficient processes.

  • Work effectively in a winning team environment, building positive client and peer relationships.

  • Grow healthcare supply chain subject matter knowledge.

#2 - 40%

  • Lead internal growth initiative and/ or project

#3 - 10%

  • Complete all required training requirements.

Required Qualifications

Work Experience:

Years of Applicable Experience - 0 or more years

Education:

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

  • Experience in Supply Chain, healthcare, business, finance, other related medical fields

  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare performance improvement and/ or supply chain

  • Demonstrated capability to lead and show value from their efforts

  • Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, SQL, statistical tools (R, Python, SAS, etc.)

  • Familiarity working with large data sets a plus

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Education:

High school diploma

Working Conditions: Remote Travel Requirements: Travel 21-40% within the US Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $43,000 - $79,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
