Accounting Supervisor

Job Purpose/Summary: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, responsible for the preparation of internal and external financial statements and monthly variance analysis. Responsible for the Maximizes administering financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems that safeguard the assets to assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
Job Responsibilities:
* Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
* Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing, reconciling and resolving discrepancies.
* Responsible for the accurate and timely accounting of pension and payroll/benefits
* Prepares monthly internal and external financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow, equity and other)
* Prepares quarterly debt covenant calculations
* Responsible for monthly/quarterly/annual flux analyses
* Collaborate and effectively communicate with business partners across the organization to review actual-to-budget and actual to prior year results
* Drives financial and cost awareness throughout the organization
* Oversee the system of internal controls, including risk assessment and reviews of risk areas
* Manage staff accountant(s) and offshore accountants to support department goals and initiatives
* Establish and maintain metrics for the team including team performance and business process compliance
* Support accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation.
* Primary contact for external and internal audits and provides
* Performs special duties and other projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* SAP experience preferred but not required.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
* Must be an outstanding communicator with established skills in accuracy and working in a high-volume environment.
* Demonstrate ability to support all other departments within the company.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
* 5-10 years' experience in accounting/finance
* Experience with financial reporting requirements
Working Conditions: Work is mostly performed in a normal office environment. May be required to work more than a normal workweek, including weekends. Travel may also be required. Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement.
Physical/Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands or fingers; handle or feel; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The workday usually has a high number of interruptions and priority changes necessitating the need to remain flexible and focused to accomplish tasks. May be required to work more than a normal workweek, including weekends.
